I seriously think that Bowles has lost this team. He should start Petty, but he won't. Unfortunately Bowles is every bit as stubborn as Rex.
The jets aren't "eliminated" so Bowles will go with the seasoned vet. If we lose to St. Louis there is NO REASON petty shouldn't get two weeks to prep for New England
It's hard to swallow more Fitzpatrick, when we should be evaluating Petty and/or Hackenburg. The Jets from a management standpoint should face the facts, they're currently rebuilding, so all roster decisions going forward should be made with that in mind. We're not moving forward as a franchise spinning our wheels in the mud with a journeyman qb. We need to evaluate the coaching staff from top to bottom as well.

If he loses the locker room by starting Petty instead of Fitz, then the Jets ought to line up the team and machine gun them all, because they're too fucking stupid to live!
So what??? The point is ... it turned out that the INT didn't even hurt us. Period. Giving up a goddamn TD on the ensuing kickoff killed us. That's the point.
But, as another poster succinctly said, the goal of the season is to win as many games as possible. How are we supposed to develop a franchise QB when we have to win as many games as possible and try to save the HC's job? [sarcasm off] Of course, we should be starting Petty next week. Hell, he should have started last week, but the Jets never do anything the right way. That is why this is probably my last season following and rooting for this team. Enough is enough. Unless or until Petty or Hack start, I'm done with this effing team and hope they get blown out in every game.
His first start against the Patriots? Seriously? SMH at some of the crazy shit Jets fans think makes sense. As Dave Barry used to say, "You can't make this shit up!"
If he sucks, so what? At least it will be a different QB than Fitz sucking, that QB will suck throwing darts rather than lobs, and we'll know that Petty isn't the answer. It will enable the Jets to make a better decision for next year and will enable them to know that they need to draft another QB to compete with Hack.
People became disillusioned because we beat the browns and the ravens....Fitz played average at best in those games and today he furthered his league worst interception count. I'm usually in favor of letting rookie qb's sit 2 years or so but at this juncture I don't think I can honestly see Fitz take another snap for the Jets. My interest in the team is pretty minimal at this point because I know with him under center the team is already at a disadvantage. Give Petty the ball and see what he can offer this team. The way I see it, everyone is practically auditioning for a spot on this roster. Have to weed out those who want to fight through shitty circumstances and those who want to fold and get paid without trying much.
I totally disagree. Bowles is in over his head and is clueless about many facets of coaching the team, preparing them for games, and managing the games. It appears as if he is afraid of rookies, and it appears Gailey is too. Fitz gives them ZERO chance to win. He doesn't read the D, he has no arm talent, is stupid, and hasn't learned a damn thing in 11 years in the league.
I never miss Jets games. Never has happened, but I will not watch the Jets anymore this year until they make a change at QB. Leading the NFL in Ints and redzone Ints is total bullshit. I get it, you don't want to give up until you are mathematically eliminated, but this season will be a complete loss before we ultimately make a change. Change isn't always a guarantee for better results, but it certainly can work. I was extremely disappointed in Ryan's post game comments after the Ravens game and even more disappointed in us sticking with a QB who blasted the entire organization. Screw you Fitzpatrick. Playing pissed off hasn't helped you and it never will because you aren't any good.
] Gailey needs to be sent out of town on the same train as Shitzpatrick and if Bowles isn't smart enough to realize Gailey / Shitz is a losing combo and fails to start someone other than Shitzpatrick this week then lets buy a ticket for Bowles on the same train. This team has no balls.. how many 3rd and 1's do we have to witness moron Gailey throwing the ball instead of pounding the rock? How many more dumb INT's do we have to witness from Shitzpatrick to realize he's a bottom of the barrel washed up journeyman wanna be QB?
