Rutgers gets #6, and Barry Alvarez said that 4 computers had RU #2. Interesting, and that #6 spot sets them up for one hell of a shot if they beat WVU down in Morgantown. Ideal Rutgers scenario: Ohio State beats Michigan (gives RU a shot to get over UM) Cal beats USC (eliminates SC) USC beats ND (eliminates ND) Florida St. beats Florida (eliminates Florida) Florida beats Arkansas in the SEC Title game (eliminates Ark) Now will that happen? No. My guess right now remains OSU vs USC (winner of each game). I figure Arkansas will beat Florida.
I'm shocked that they haven't lost to a random team this year, so you never know, they could beat SC.
Notre Dame's road to the title game - kill Army - destroy USC - Florida.......keep playing like you have been - Rutgers can lose to WVU but it won't matter - Michigan beats Ohio St.
Wow a delusional Note Dame talking to a delusional Rutgers fan.... Actually Hurricane your scenarios are good but expecting Florida State to beat Florida is not going to happen. They just got pasted at home by Wake Forest. A more likely scenario is for Arkansas beat Mississippi State next week and clinch the SEC West title. They then lose to LSU in Baton Rouge eliminating them but they bounce back to beat Florida in the SEC title game. Now I'm not sure of all the tiebreakers but I think Rutgers/Louisville and West Virginia will split the Big East but I will take West Virginia because I think they will be the highest ranked BE team. This is how I envision the BCS Bowls shaking out Orange Bowl Georgia Tech (ACC Champ) vs Boise State (by virtue of being in the top 12 BCS) Sugar Bowl Arkansas (SEC Champ) vs West Virginia (Big East Champ) Fiesta Bowl Texas (Big 12 Champ) vs Notre Dame (BCS At Large) Rose Bowl Michigan(Big 10 2nd place team) vs. Florida (BCS At Large) National Championship Game Ohio State vs. USC
i think they're more likely to put nd ahead of michigan than to see a rematch from a game played earlier in the season
I know there are a lot of ND fans here and this wont sit well but they are so overrated its not even funny anymore. Who have they played this year? Honestly, they needed miraculous comebacks a few times against bad teams, and the only ranked teams theyve played are Penn state at the time, who as we all know is not a great team by any means, and Michigan who beat them. How do they deserve any recognition over even the Big East schools. I was one of the guys who said the big east didnt deserve a spot in the title game and they dont, but notre dame certainly doesnt belong there. Arkansas, USC, Florida, Michigan, Ohio State, and Rutgers are the only teams anyone should be talking about. The loser of OSU/Mich would still deserve the title game appearance more than ND, assuming its not a blowout. From a more biased view...how the hell is USC ranked so highly? Everyone seems to forget all those close games they had earlier in the season against the likes of washington washington state and arizona state. Everyone is just saying that Florida hasnt blown anyone out, Im sorry but USC was almost losing a lot earlier this year. Everyone seems to have forgotten that. Look at the schedules so far, how can anyone tell me USC has had a better season to this point the Florida, Not to mention that they lost to Oregon St who isnt Auburn by any stretch. They beat Arkansas by a ton yeah, thats true, but that wasnt nearly the same arkansas team it is now. Florida should be #3 in the polls and if Arkansas gets through LSU and Florida then they should be in the title game. Undefeated through 9 games in the SEC and not getting a title game appearance would be a joke.
WTF is a Florida fan talking to Irish fans about playing close against bad teams. Did somebody miss the last couple of Florida games, what a joke don't talk down to me when you had to block a FG in order not to lose to SC. Florida maybe is 4th BCS for now but they're done if they play Arkansas like they did Vandy and SC, hell I wouldn't be confident in them winning vs. FSU with that style of play. ND>USC >Arkansas>Florida ND beat could be ACC champ GT while Florida played NCAA powerhouse UCF:rofl: ND is going to play the No. 3 team in the BCS, No. 2 after this week where as Florida plays Western Carolina and FSU before they get to lose to Arkansas. If Rutgers beats WVU then they'll be considered but for now they're a contender. At least the BCS computers can tell who is overrated I'm looking at you Florida. Yes I know PSU isn't that great but they are a bowl team.
Exactly. The only team ND lost to is the now #2 team in the country, and that was early in the season when ND played arguably their worst game. Michigan is not playing with the same intensity they played with against ND, and they've had a couple near-misses. If a rematch were to happen, I can guarantee it would at least be a game this time around. You cannot ignore ND in this situation. I'm not saying they're going to get there, but if they beat USC, they sure deserve it just as much as any other one loss team. Florida has been squeaking out wins for too long against teams that really aren't that good. Not to mention, the loss to Auburn (who is worse than #2 if I'm not mistaken). Keep the bias at bay, GatorNation. Your team does not deserve to get to the championship right now. Beat Arkansas, and then you have a case. Otherwise, they're just as overrated as you think ND is.
Are you kidding me? How can you make fun of anyone on Floridas schedule? Who has ND beat other than PSU and GT? Those are 2 teams who arent even that good to begin with. so PSU is a bowl team, do you know how many of those teams Florida has played? Sure they have Western Carolina and UCF, not everyone is a bowl team. Of course you leave out all of the weeks when Florida played the SEC schools liek LSU. Florida has been playing bad teams close lately but at least they also have tough teams on their schedule. If ND beats USC then theyll have some discussion in my mind as long as Florida or Arkansas dont win out. My bias is only when it comes to USC, not ND. ND hasnt done enough for me to be biased against them. Im not even gonna bother talking about the BCS anymore cause everyone seems to disagree about it. Id rather just focus on the Jets and let the BCS do what they always do, which is screw up the championship game.
