Why does Maddon take Hendricks out when he's rolling in the 5th with only 60 pitches? I get that he walked the guy but c'mon. Many historic moments in this game.....first leadoff Game 7 homer and first game-tying homer after the 8th in a G7
Man if the Cubs lose this game. Move over Billy Goat. get outta here Steve Bartman, John Madden is in town! Putting Lester in so early and basically trying to say "f you" to everyone because they all said playing Chapman yesterday was a bad idea... You do that, and then say he can pitch 2 innings today? Not only that, but Chapman statistically sucks coming in with runners on... Just real bad management
The Cubs might still win this game, obviously, but Maddon's genius reputation has really taken a hit in the last couple of games. He has made one blunder after another. Allen looks very shaky to start the 9th.
that was predictable Maddon overused Chapman all series for no good reason, and now it comes home to roost. Heyward 0/25 on the road this season, .100 hitter in the playoffs, 1 RBI, can't bunt but Maddon keeps sending him up to the plate
I've never seen more horrible decisions from a manager in a World Series than I have this year with Joe Maddon. He repeatedly pulled his starters early despite not trusting any of his relievers except for Chapman. So that meant he'd use Chapman a lot more than Chapman was used to.
comedy two strikes on Baez and he tells him to bunt Baez a lousy bunter, so he strikes out dumb move after dumb move
A safety squeeze attempt on a 3-2 count with one out? If Maddon called that he's gone completely bonkers.
This is unprecedented and the worst string of decisions I have seen in 25 years of baseball from any manager.
can't believe Chapman was sent out for the 9th (as he was last night, neither time did it make any sense) Chapman wasn't the same but miraculously survived the 9th.
