I would definitely field offers for Sheldon but I don't see it happening. Macc would basically be admitting to Woody that the season is toast. Which, for his job's sake, would make no sense. My guess is the front office and coaching staff are going to put themselves in line to win as many games as they can and pray the that Petty can show something..... Trading one of our few strengths would hinder that.

I'd only deal Sheldon if you can get a player of return in good value not just a pick.

Above has nothing to do with why a team would want Sheldon and that was the crux of my post.

    Reasons?

    Young
    Contract is controlled
    Athletic
    DROY
    Motor
    Heart
    Can stop the run
    Can get to QB
    Pro-Bowl caliber

    Downside
    Imbecile
    Immature?

Think the Pro outweigh the con for the buyer. Jets should only sell for a 1st (or a 2nd + another pick)

If that pick turned into a quality offensive lineman, I'd be all for it. See John Abraham.

I also think they have enough talent that a couple of tweaks would make the team better.

The CS can't be traded though, and it's also a problem. Maybe Rodgers is fired and a new DC is brought in.

made no sense for him to get so few snaps after his game the week before. maybe there is something to this trade talk. but I think nothing happens.

The jets can always spin it and ask sheldon, how many sacks did he get as a pass rushing LB?

I woke up with a sinking feeling that we're about to trade the best player on our team for a 36 year old QB with a broken back

We should trade Revis for a 7th if we can get it.

Biggest problem with trading Richardson, is we would probably get a 2nd at best.

Anyone familiar with the Jets draft history in the 2nd round?

Let me save you some time, it's fucking awful!

I have no problem trading Richardson. The dline has not performed well enough to justify paying everyone so much. The best game of the season, week 1, he didn't even play.

If they could get a young offensive lineman and/or a 2nd rounder, I'd take it. It would also take $8M off the books next year.

They don't even have the balls to bench a journeyman QB who's been sucking balls....... anyone think they'll trade guys that are actually good?

Jets are stupid if they dont take what ever offer they can get for Richardson. There is absolutely 0 chance we resign him this off season and will walk out of the door for nothing more then a comp pick.

We don't have to resign him this offseason. He is still under contract, with tags we don't even have to negotiate for 3 years
