I highly doubt Geno will be ready to play until at least week 8/9 next season if at all. We have likely seen the last of Geno.

I guess it works out now that Geno is going to the IR but it sure does seem like a waste of a roster spot if he still isn't properly throwing the ball when he could've went on the IR 2 months ago. It doesn't really matter now though hopefully he eventually plays and proves his draft spot last season.

Now, if Bowles still refuses to activate and suit up Petty as the #2, then there's real problem going on with the CS and Petty they're not talking about. Either Petty really doesn't practice well, or they're bending over backwards to get Hackenberg on the field. If that is the case, Petty needs to start planning on a new address soon as his rookie deal is up. No reason to hang around here.
Bowles must be terrified of the prospect of Petty on the field activated. It wouldn't surprise me if they signed some bum off the streets just to keep from activating him. I have to wonder with all the mystery about who wanted Fitz benched, the question has to be who doesn't want Petty on the field.
They could have put petty on i.r. pretty easily after p.s. game 4. Tgat they carried 4 qbs tells me they are somewhat invested in petty but just in no rush to send him out there. I bet we see him soon enough
Agreed, however, the last time we took a long view with a qb prospect it turned out ok until injuries took hold. Obviously different players coaches and scouts but we seem to repeat history all the time, why not repeat some good history for a change
Jets are going to carry 2 QBs next week. Geno won't be able to go so I would assume Petty will be #2 this week. They won't find anyone on the street. Petty showed major progress, but it's time to really see what he's made of.
Let's not forget Petty got hurt on a late hit after throwing a perfect 45 yard TD, a pass Firzpatrick can only dream of throwing.it's really time to give him a chance.
On the radio earlier, Bowles said there is no guarantee that Petty will be the number going into the game. He said that Hackenberg will get reps this week and he could end up the number 2. Could be coach talk, could be something.
Could be Mac wants Hackenberg to surpass Petty being a 2nd round pick and all. There's something going on with Petty and this FO/CS that stinks. This kid is gonna get shafted out of a shot to run this team.
