I have to agree here. Once Petty is ready, he needs to play. The fact that he is practicing is a good sign. I personally don't think Fitz should be on the team after his lame press conference, but I don't think they can afford to cut him after Geno's injury.
Petty. It's a no brainer. You give him ALL the snaps in practice, coach him up and design the offense and game plan around what he can do well.
No it isn't, at least in terms of Hack. Hack should NOT see the field this season. You guys who want him to are clueless.
Some people have a higher pain threshold than others and Geno was probably so desperate to play and try to resurrect his career that he was willing to play through the pain.
Well, they handed the keys to Fitz. And at this stage havent even named Petty the #2. Which is strange. They are either being super cautious with him or his injury is worse than we thought. In which case they should have moved him to the PUP list before the season started.
I don't think you can just go by the number of losses. Petty's first start shouldn't be against the Pats or Bills.
Not trying to be a homer, but the Jets could legitimately be 5-5 going into the bye week. The Browns, Dolphins, and Rams are all winnable games. You have to put Fitz out there and if they lose just 1 game, it's Petty's team for the rest of the season.
How does it benefit the Jets? We're now stuck with Fitz playing again. The only way it benefits the Jets is that it increases the chances we'll lose and have better draft position. It would have been better if Fitz was the one who was hurt.
I've never been a fan of Geno on the Jets, but this is truly heartbreaking. I really feel bad for Geno. I hope he has a speedy recovery and finds a place somewhere in the league where he can be successful.
Bowles confirmed a Fitz will start, said they're only dressing one back up but didn't say who yet. For what it's worth Mangold sprained his ankle
Or he got in a locker room fight after the game and that's how he really got the torn ACL Yes I'm being sarcastic...but usually you'd think a torn ACL would be diagnosed by the end of the game. They knew Vinny was fvcked by halftime in '99.
8 Passing attempts in 24 plays, 4 completions for about 35 yards once you take the move that Quince made (though 2 incompletions were on the receiver and would've netted another 27 yards) and then there were the 2 sacks for -11 yards. The sacks were the worst and totally ruined any good vibes I was getting on Genoday '16'. It wasn't that he knocked us out of range or coughed up major yardage but the fact that he didn't feel the pressure and when they got to him his ball security was godawful. Wherever he ends up next year I hope they make him walk around the facility clutching a football in both hands to try ingrain some protection into him. I'll grant you it was only twice in less then a half but it was a fumble (or two) waiting to happen.
Geno sucked and most his bad luck was self inflicted. Glad I will never see him in a Jets uniform again.
