Petty looked good and so did the young receivers Anderson and Peake. The TE's not so much. Amaro dropped a few again, Sudfield had a critical fumble lost and so did Kellen Davis. I would keep Amaro and have him catch passes from all 4 QB's till his hand bled. The other 2 TE's I would cut since they bring nothing to the table. They can't block, can't catch and can't hold on to the ball and Chan Gailey avoid throwing to them anyway. I would plus up the receiver corp because neither Peake or Anderson could sneak through waivers.

Other teams think Geno is good. Then I explain to them that he is not. Throwing into triple coverage was something a QB in Pop Warner does. Not a guy who has started in the NFL and played big time ball at West Virginia. The faster the Jets move on from Geno the better. It will also help him to get away from the booing, IK incident in the rear view, media and a fresh start.

Agree after watching the fourth quarter from the late night replay I recorded. I had high hopes for Sudfeld before he got hurt but he has shown nothing this year, even with a pretty routine TD under his belt.

I used to be slow, now I'm worse and I'm spotting him 40 years, 80pounds and 8 inches (in height, wiseasses) I think he might have a hard time keeping me off the play.

If other teams like him so much why not trade him for a pick ...

I'm bumping this thread. Know why? Because with Fitz popping his mouth off and Geno not able to throw a goddam ball away:

Looking at the schedule I think week 13 against the Colts would give the Petty era the best chance to get off to a good start if he is not healthy enough to play against the Browns.

Next week I would start the beard to give Geno's knee another week to heal and bench Fitz afterwards.

I would give Petty first team reps this week. Split with Geno if healthy, Fitz if Geno needs to rest.

The article said it would be 2-3 weeks before he is healthy.

Yeah, let's rush one of our unproven young QB's in there, fresh off of a serious injury. Just the type of decision making that will finally turn this franchise around! Can't wait. Any of you still wearing your Greg McElroy jersey? I remember sitting in the upper deck at CrapLife Stadium watching the home game that Rex started McElroy, thinking "what a waste of everyone's time this is…"

Hey, I like his skill set too, but the second half of preseason games is far different. When Bryce gets a shot, let's make sure he's really ready and not due to being mad at both Fitz and Geno.

That's fair, I'm just surprised that it was a much more serious injury than what was let on by the CS.

They gave him 6 weeks to heal a bruised shoulder. He has been learning the playbook for 19 months. Agree that you don't want to rush the kid, but the Jets took their time in getting Petty healed and he has had enough time to learn the playbook. They already have a red-shirt guy in Hackenberg. They need to see what Petty can do in a real game against real opponents, and for more than just mop up duty.

If they wait too long, or dont start him at all, they will be looking at 2017 retreads like Tony Romo or extending Geno to big dollars. Not a great way to build for the future.

This is a young team in search of a young franchise QB. Time to see what Petty has under the hood.

If you watch closely the play where Bryce Petty was injured, you'll notice that his shoulder was completely pulverized.

He's never going to have the same arm strength again.

    He got Penningtoned.
