Probably a good thing, if Geno took the team on a run and played half way decent half the fan base would probably wanna slap the franchis tag on him.
Bring in the clowns...can't imagine the media response if they play the guy that threw the owner, gm and coach under the bus.
Tough break for Geno...probably done as a Jet but who even knows what they have in mind Petty should be the guy for the rest of the year...Fitz is a train wreck
I have no love loss for Geno, but it sucks that this happened. He looked OK yesterday. I had no problem with the Jets going to him.
I feel bad for Geno. He got dealt a bad hand this season. He deserved to get a chance this year with how bad Fitz has played. But in all honesty, this helps solve a big headache for the Jets. Now there is no QB controversy. It’s Fitz’s job now until Bryce is ready and or the season is basically over (from a wins/losses) standpoint. I would have liked to see Geno get one more chance. But realistically neither Fitz or Geno will be back on this team next year. So it’s not the end of the world.
Must be a fascinating conversation between Woody, Mac and Bowles right now. Do they hand the keys back to the guy that ripped them up yesterday or go with the unknown commodity in Petty.
Geno Smith's Jets Career is over. 2015 and 2016 definitely did not go as planned for the poor guy. Let's look back on the positives for Geno: -The run he made that got a penalty called, setting up the Jets win over the Buccaneers. -Geno's amazing MNF performance in Atlanta. -Geno's (2-0) record dominating in Miami. -2013's impressive team wins over the New Orleans Saints and New England Patriots. So even though it was not a great run, Geno still had some bright moments!

Dear Geno, Sorry about your knee. But, I am so happy that I will never again have to see you in a Jets uniform. You have been a disgrace your entire career, even before you were drafted by the Jets. Shoving a 71 year old Iowa State coach when you were in college. What a tough guy you were. Pouting when every team passed on you in the first round of the draft. What a mature guy you were. Missing a team meeting because you didn't under time zones. What a smart guy you were. Running out of the back of the end zone on a roll-out. What. Great understanding of the game you had. Dick picks on social media. Only surpassed by the actual picks yo threw on the field. Getting punched in the face by a teammate. Totally deserved, tough guy. Acting like a petulant child on the sideline. Great teammate. So glad you're gone. You loser. This is a great day in Jets history. Go pollute someone else's team.
Wtf is it with this dumb ass bearded Fitzpatrick that wherever he goes no matter how bad he sucks the other guys get hurt. I almost don't want Petty or Hackenberg to play because 12 years of history proves they'll have career ending injuries if they do. Truly amazing this is happening and we're still stuck with the god awful QB. I'll take the risk though, please football gods let this Sunday be the last time Ryan Fitzpatrick plays QB for the Jets.
