I will never utter those words again. I believed the crap I was hearing during the off season. Nothing has changed. He's a piece of crap and will never be a good NFL QB. I am glad we have Fitz and I hope in week 4 Petty out plays GiNO and we cut his ass.

I'm sure you felt very clever when you chose your username, there's no other way to take it, but I doubt you're very prominent in any of your multiple existences.

    Just not clever enough.

But you'll keep trying, I'm sure.

Paying 12 million for this piece of crap instead of anointing Geno the starter and signing a veteran backup was the wrong decision by our gm and coach. I expect Geno to shit the bed and then petty to shit the bed and then Hackenberg to make those 2 look good. We have 4 shifty qb's we should have had 3.

If they try to put 8 in the box now, let's see what happens. We should have some room for the running game and speedy reviewers on the outside will give move space in the middle for Marshall and Quincy. We'll see... Baltimore is always a tuff out just like Pittsburgh. If we can be still in the game at the end that will be a plus.

The Star Ledger has an slideshow up giving 6 reasons why starting Geno could help.

    http://www.nj.com/jets/index.ssf/2016/10/6_reasons_going_to_geno_smith_might_work_for_jets.html#8

    They are as follows:

    1. The Jets can finally stretch the field. This should benefit Robby Anderson, Charone Peake and Devin Smith and help in their development.
    2. Maybe the Jets find their QB of the future? I seriously doubt it, but Fitz sure isn't working. It would be insane to keep playing Fitz and hope things somehow miraculously change. A change must be made. A message also needs to be sent to Jets' players that crappy play will not be tolerated regardless of the size of the contract (Are you listening Mo?).
    3. Bryce Petty is one step closer to playing. The Star Ledger doesn't think Fitz will play again this season, and if Geno flops, then Petty would play.
    4. It could result in compensatory draft picks. Actually, that should be singular, not plural, but is a good reason. If Geno plays well enough to get another team interested (an with the scarcity of QBs in the NFL, someone else is bound to give him a shot), the Jets would get a compensatory pick when he signs with another team.
    5. Geno Smith could provide a spark. The Jets have talent on offense, maybe a different voice in the huddle can jump start the offense.
    6. Can it get any worse? No. The Jets are already at rock bottom. There's no way it can be worse.

Maybe it should read Geno Last Time,,,?
As far as a different voice in the huddle ,I think gods voice or Devine intervention is what we need

I was not surprised to see Mehta write a negative article in the News today about Smith. This was the guy who sold out for Fitz. and probably received a small contribution from his agent. That he has no integrity is obvious by the personal attacks. That he knows nothing about football is a given.

this is Geno's last chance.... but I highly doubt he will play worse than Fitzpatrick has. I can't believe more people haven't seen it. VS Fitz, you only have to defend 30 yards of the field and that may be generous. I have no idea if Geno will live up to the physical tools. But, opposing teams will have to respect more routes with Geno behind center. Anyone else notice how most screen passes are just getting blown up? With Fitz in there, it's like constantly playing offense in the red zone where there is less field to cover. The other aspect Geno possibly brings are his legs. That can be a factor that the Jets just haven't seen with RF. I will be curious to see the game plan that Gailey uses. I would expect the Ravens to blitz, and blitz a lot. Gailey better have plenty of hot routes ready. Also, anyone criticizing ANYTHING Geno did on the field or off vs the Cardinals just doesn't understand football. Basic mouth breathers..... He got no snaps with the #1's, they weren't going to let him go deep, and the 4th down INT, was meaningless. He got flushed from the pocket and threw the only pass he had available. Mathieu was just waiting.... My concern is the Jets look like they have already quit. The defense is abysmal. Bowles inspires nobody..... Vets are going to just play out the string and hope to not get injured.

Hopefully Geno is just a bridge until Petty plays. I can't root against the Jets, therefore I can't root against Geno, but he and Fitz are the drizzling shits and neither will be on the team next year. Here's to hoping we see Petty get some snaps ASAP.

Welcome aboard. Are you really sure there isn't ANYTHING about Smith's performance that can be criticized? Not even the fumble?
