Best of luck to Geno. I'm not a fan but hope he proves me and us wrong and shows something.... I do feel the cards are definitely stacked against him but here's the opportunity to fail or succeed. Fitz is dust. If Geno fails the procession continues to Petty then to Hack... What more do we have to lose?
The Jets are one of the most embarrassing franchises in Sports History. I am truly ashamed today. Pay Fitz $12 million. Draft Petty in the 4th Round. Draft Hackenberg in the 2nd Round. YET GO BACK TO ONE OF THE WORST QB'S I HAVE EVER WATCHED PLAY? Truly sickening. This is the lowest I have been as a Jets fan. I am done with them for awhile. I'll go back cause I always do. This is the earliest I have ever quit on a season though. Awful.
Best case scenario geno lights it up and we play him again in week 8 Worst case scenario he throws 3 straight picks and we are back to Fitzpatrick till petty is ready. Good move by Bowles
I agree with some posters above. They were not going to let Petty or Hackenberg jump ahead. They will give Geno one more shot. I fully expect that he will fail -- nothing has changed. Then they will move to Petty in December (after the Pats game) and give him the last 5. This is just the beginning of some big personnel changes. I don't think that there is a legit franchise qb this year anyway...at least I don't think so.

Petty is hurt. Hack won't be ready to play until year 3 . Fitz has played even worse this season than geno did his first 2 years in NFL. This is the only thing that makes sense . They are doing the right thing. Chilllllll
I guess the difference this year is the expectations I had. I truly felt they could be a playoff team. Now the season is over with 10 games left? Hard to believe. Thats my worry! The Jets are making moves with no brain! Not new. Just have been holding it in for a long time. Haha. Yeah, I guess they are in a no win situation. Literally. Not winning.
Let's take a step away from the ledge TDK. Petty isn't fully healthy yet, Hackenberg no sense in putting him in right now, he needs to continue to take reps with the scout team. Geno will probably get a 2 or 3 game showing. After the Bye, things probably will change.
Yeah, I am okay now. Thanks fellas. It's just tough when you defend a team so much and they let you down. Making this move signals the season is over for me and that was tough to process. Good luck to Geno auditioning for the rest of the NFL.
Throw Geno out there, if he stinks go to Petty. Seems fair to me. Geno should get one more chance before he done with the Jets
They're going with Geno, it's not worth debating. I just hope he's on a short leash given his contract situation.
