The Geno hate here is ridiculous. People complain about everything. Fitz has looked terrible. Petty is not fully back yet and Hackenberg is years away from starting. WHAT ELSE DO YOU WANT?

What Geno has going for him is that he can't possibly be any worse than the QB he is replacing.

I'm all for playing him up to the bye week. If he goes 0-4 or 1-3 I would start Petty.

Since he is our only option other than Fitz I'm ok with it but only until Petty is ready ... which should be after the bye week ...

It's irrelevant if Geno is a disaster because Fitz is a disaster. There's zero downside to this move.

Now increase the Petty practice reps and start him in a few weeks. It's really the only thing to look forward to this year.

There really isn't that much talent from last time he was a starter,The offensive line is worse and without Decker the rest of the receiving corps seems to suffer.

The problem is he's playing some real cupcake defenses. Ravens, Browns, Dolphins. If he finds a way to play poorly and the team goes 0-4 or 1-3 then absolutely bench his ass for Petty (which I'm in favor of regardless).

I would argue against Hack being years away. However, I absolutely agree with everything else.

Petty better be dressed this time around.......Geno is hot garbage and will do the opposite of inspiring this team.

playing him accomplishes nothing.. time to take the training wheels off the draft picks.

Well, season is over so sure, rearrange the deck chairs. Not that Fitz didn't deserve to be benched, he legit played his way out of the starting job, just that this doesn't make us any better. I would be happy that at least his awful play will put all the 'Geno never had a chance' bullshit to rest, but they'll find some other excuse.

Think Geno starting is an indication the Jets believe they can make a run up to the BYE week.

I agree with an earlier post, Petty should be starting after the BYE, especially if the Jets lose to Cleveland and/or Miami.

Even if Bowles planned on starting geno after Monday's game it was the right move to just say he's staying with fitz. No need to fuel the fire with the media by announcing the QB change immediately after the loss .

Another shitty situation for geno. He's playing for his NFL career but I get the feeling some of the team has already given up :cough:defense:cough: hopefully he shows enough for another team to give him a shot . He needs to get off this team if he's ever guna make it

I think it's a joke because with this line and with decker out they are yet again putting geno in a position to fail. So anything besides a complete melt down the next 2 games would be nothing short of incredible.

The excuse-making begins and the team hasn't even officially announced the guy is starting yet.

People are speculating that Joe Flacco might be concussed.

Ravens (no Flacco?), Browns, Dolphins, Rams.

Imagine Geno beats up on bad teams and gets us back to 5-5 at the bye with the Patriots in Sunday Night Football on deck. It'd be the most confusing thing ever, then a world of optimism would get swatted down like a fly with a 30 point primetime blowout.

All this is likely to do is make Geno look bad (and possibly result in an injury since he holds the ball longer), prove the team has multiple other problems and weaknesses and make other teams reconsider their opinions on Fitzpatrick meaning some team will end up signing him next year.
