We could have an empty helmet behind the center and it would be more effective than Fitz.

I'd start Petty as soon as he is healthy, but until then I'd play Geno. If the Jets aren't going to start Geno this week, then he should just be cut. That way the team can free up a roster spot and give Petty/Hack more reps at practice.

Somebody needs to be cut. There are not enough reps to go around for 4 QBs, not even for 3. Let's see if they have the balls to do that.

    Can I do a write-in vote?

Someone else not on the roster then Petty.

NO they don't! Fitz doesn't need any reps. He knows the offense, and barring injury or a total melt down from both Geno and Petty, Fitz should not see the field again in a Jets uniform. They can give Fitz some scout team reps.

The old "you don't know anything about football" argument? How about you make an adult's argument instead and just deal with the issues? Smith has a better arm which is attached to a thought process and capabilities not conducive to the NFL. There are certainly other options than Smith or Fitzpatrick - other teams have brought guys in mid-season - some better, some worse but an honest poll would have made them available.

Looks like your boy is getting the call this week. What happens week eight if he has a 40% completion rate, loses 30 yards rushing, has a fumble lost and two interceptions? Do you ride with him, go back to Fitzpatrick or something else? How many options then?

You're right - it looks like I was wrong about the opinions. It's yet to be seen whose opinion will prove to be correct.

That's been the knock on Smith since he got here.

That's been the knock on the past 6 QB's of ours since they got here.

Well I'm certainly not in the majority, I wanted both of these bums cut and wanted to go with Petty and have some one else back up Petty and keep Hack in the 3rd spot.

Geno will be just as bad as when the jets had a good running game, and he still was a joke because he could not play from under center, literally could not get feet coordinated after getting the ball snapped to him, seriously what fan can accept that from their QB?

I don't need to see 10 games with Geno to see that he sucks, you wait, we are going to hear he only had Marshall, or he had no running game, or the line gave him no protection.

We have 2 qbs that if we could somehow combine them would be good.

Ryan is smart and can read defenses, Geno is dumb, can't read defenses or call correct protection but has a good arm.

Fitz is NOT smart and doesn't really read defenses. That's a pure myth. He may have gone to Harvard, but he's a dumbass on the football field. He has never learned to slide and is still making the same stupid mistakes he was 12 years ago. If he did read defenses, he wouldn't consistently throw into double and triple coverage. He gets the ball out quickly because he makes up his mind prior to the snap where he's going with the ball, rather than actually reading the D and then making the decision. He doesn't go through his progressions. Geno was doing a better job of that in preseason than Fitz was.
