Mac is better than Idzik but we don't know if he's the answer. I won't re-post here but if you look in the "I was wrong" thread you'll see from my post that Mac has issues as well.

I honestly do not believe that we could have done better than Mac when considering who else was interested in taking the job. Everyone wants the DeCosta guy down in Baltimore but he wont leave.

Mac was elected NFL Executive of the Year by the PFW of America after his first season. 32 GMs in the league and the guy who wins the award has everyone wanting him gone 8 months later..........................C'MON PEOPLE!

That guy always talks about how Peppers is overrated but never says a reason why.

    Peppers is a great talent.

He's playing well. I just don't think he is good personally. He's got a good supporting cast.

Plus when you draft a QB you draft the leader of your team.

Kelly is so far from that.

He is not a true CB. He doesn't line up outside. He is a nickel back/ LB tweener. If you want to waste a high pick on a kid with no "ball in the air" skills go ahead.

You don't draft CBs at the tops of drafts because they are good tacklers or KR. You draft them to defend the pass.

Pepppers makes no plays with the ball in the air. That is a cold hard fact.

Freak athlete? Yes. Blue-Collar CB? Hell no.

I will agree that if you take him, you don't play him in one spot..... his versatility is probably his best attribute...... I will say he is a playmaker and a freak athlete.... our defense can definitely use him

He would probably be a safety in the NFL.

I really hope not. As good as a top corner can be, this team needs to replenish its impact players specifically on the offensive side of the ball. Corners can take several years to develop. The only non-impact type of top 5 picks I'd be OK with is a stud of an offensive lineman. Also, the fact that we're still rotating through our right tackle is an embarssment.

Cam Robinson seems like a stud of a talent, but he's got some questions in terms of character with the arrest, even though they didn't prosecute him (I don't think?). He seems to project better as a right tackle though.

Hopefully we can determine in the upcoming weeks if we can move forward with this quarterback competition or if we need to take a quarterback in the top 5. This team is never in position to take a top quarterback because we're always in the 6-10 or 7-9 range. I think regardless of how the young guns play we need to try to get Watson.

One of the big factors in the Rams and the Eagles trading up last year was looking at the crop of quarterbacks coming out not only this year but in the upcoming years. As much as the offensive line needs to be rebuilt, a great signal caller can mask the deficiencies of the rest of the offense and especially one that can run. It really changes the whole complexion of a franchise.

I look at someone like Matthew Stafford. Even though they haven't been very good, the Lions are in most ball games because they have him firing away in the 4th quarter. I really don't foresee that 'comfort' with anyone on the roster.

We need to solidify the rest of the roster before we keep taking these friggain X Factor players. I thought Darron Lee was a good pick at the time, given that we had a roster built to support a player that can be moved around. It's obvious that we don't have that roster, and the pick is looking like a Bowles luxury of trying to recreate Deone Buchanan rather than picking an immediate contributor or the best player on the board.

If the secondary continues to spiral downward and it becomes obvious we have to draft a shut down CB in the first round.... I think I will just stop following offense players in college football

There is no way in hell this franchise can draft another CB or DL in round 1. I don't care how bad the secondary is and it's bad. We need to bring in a coach that can scheme around that and bring in a FA or two.

If it was up to me I'd use every pick between QB, WR, RB, TE, OL in best order possible.

    Drafting another CB?? Smfh.

I don't care about exec of the year, I care about results and right now he hasn't drafted to well in the key rounds (1-3) and he's pissed away money overpaying for FA guys. I like the guy for being willing to spend to get people in here, unlike Idzik but right now he still has a lot to prove.

I'm really hoping the Jets get a top 3 pick and trade out for a nice return.

Including the Jets, there 5 teams around our current projected draft position (3rd) who need QBs. Someone will be looking to trade up...

So we'll be the Browns trading away our chance at a franchise QB when we haven't had one in ever?

Haven't seen anyone 2017 eligible who seems franchise. That's not saying that there won't be one in the 2017 class, but if you're counting on the Jets to get it right, you're most likely going to be disappointed.

Take the sure thing -- OL or edge rusher and stock pile picks.

    Give Petty the ball.
