Per NY Post: https://nypost.com/2016/10/16/help-finally-on-the-way-for-jets-depleted-wr-corps/ Teams must be shaking in their boots right now when they read this! But in all seriousness, he's not going to do much with Fitz at the helm. With Petty, he can run more deep routes because Petty has got the arm to throw it to him. I really hope that something finally falls right for us FOR ONCE and Smith comes back looking good or promising to say the least.
since we used a high 2nd round pick on him, might as well play him if he's ok--it stuns me that bowles still plays fitzpatrick when we have two young QBs we should look at. Message to Todd--the jets are not going to playoffs--Pit. Cinn. and KC all hold tie breakers over us, in the VERY unlikely event we could even tie with any of them.
Well I think a lot will change if we lose this game (hopefully). 6 weeks of awful results is enough for any sane person to want to change things. There's sticking to a plan and then there's a failure to adapt, and we're looking more like the latter right now. Its not like we went 13-3 and won a Super Bowl last year either. I'd be real curious to what Bowles will say tomorrow if we lose.
this jet's season has been a disaster, but i'm not going to take my anger out on devin smith i hope he plays well and proves that he can be a player moving forward. it seems asinine to hate on a guy because he got hurt last year, that's not his fault
Devin Smith and Robby Anderson are rail thin, and I just don't see that kind of body type surviving long outside of kicker in this league. My friend who works for a major sports news outlet was on with Devin and my buddy looked to be way bigger than him (he's average build). I get that receivers have to be speedy, but he needs to add like 5-10lbs of muscle if he wants to survive this game.
Doesn't matter if he comes back. Fitz won't look his way because he can't throw a deep ball to save his life. The only way this will remotely matter is if they make a qb change who doesn't have the limitations that fitz does. We have become one dimensional, no deep threat = teams stack the box = no run game = fitz having to pass way too much and that's why you lose games.
