No reason the Jets can't win, except for them continuing to play terribly. That would actually do it. Fitz needs to play smart, the D-line needs to get to Palmer, if that happens, the Jets can surely win. I feel optimistic about tonight. 28-17 Jets.
Send some blitzes up the A gap while having Sheldon and Mo 1v1 with backup guards. Keep an eye on DJ and don't let anyone ft behind you in the secondary. We are fucking due for a win boys.
I hope so. I will be their with my family (tickets were a birthday present - thanks kids). I will be have my lucky Chrebet Jersey on and hoping for a decent performance. First Jets game since the last time the Jets came to Arizona. I am 2-0 when seeing the Jets away so I hope the streak continues.
Lol. I looked it up and I actually think he is wrong anyway. I would consider Denver, CO "west of Texas" and the Jets won there in 2010. Seems like you are right about the nothing of value haha
AS long as they go 4-3 and zone they will lose. I do not expect a different mind set form the CS or players and therefore no different outcome. This team needs energy, emotion and most of all accountability and leadership. Nothing I have seen this year leads me to believe that this HC has the requisite skills to turn this around. Sorry 1-5 after tonight.
the tank presents itself once again do we go through with it this time or are we gonna late season geno our way to the 9th or 10th overall pick?
I agree with you but there was some talk coming out of the media articles that they want to get back to blitzing and playing aggressive this week. We'll see. No better week to do it IMO. Palmer has been struggling mightily with his accuracy in general this year but especially his deep ball accuracy. They also have a slow developing offense and struggled against Buffalo's aggressive style earlier this year. What do you got to lose Bowles? Line up and run your D like you planned on when you came here. Blitz the hell outta them and get aggressive with the WRs. If you're gonna go down go down swingin'. I look at the defense we saw the Jets use last year on MNF against the Colts where they just straight T'ed off on Luck vs. how the defense has been playing recently and the difference is extraordinary.
That's an awesome comparison! I haven't seen the defense fly 11 hats to the ball all year. We look slow and sluggish out there, no real pop on defense right now.
If we cant get pressure on a 37 year old statue of a QB battling injuries, then we should just fold the rest of the season.
I think you're on to something here. Palmer is a statute in the pocket and he's a down the field passer which takes more time than a rhythm passer like Alex Smith. Even with Brady, a statutesque rhythm passer the Jets do have success against him when there is pressure in his face. I thought this DL would keep Alex Smith in the pocket and collapse it with 2 back up OL playing for KC. We all saw what happened there. I do think they can force Palmer into a few picks, if the D can give noodle arm a short field to work with and if the OL can open holes for Forte so they draw safety's up to the line they have a shot. Again, if Shitzpatrick and his band of multiple turnovers show up all bets are off.
Palmer maneuvers in the pocket better than almost any QB in the NFL. Don't confuse mobility with pocket movement. Our chance to win this game is based on the awful decision making he's shown since week 17 of last year. If he jump starts us with turnovers, we can get back to the formula that won last year (short fields -> red zone success).
