The US has the biggest economy and most diverse economy in the world because of relatively free trade and we allow people to immigrate and have done a better job of integrating them into our society than almost any other country on the planet. You guys who claim to be Capitalist who want protected markets are pretty funny. You're basic argument is that US citizens suck at creating things and making things. Our system sucks at creating new entrants into markets and creating new markets. We need to be protected from the world so we can become the fat and lazy and be the least productive country on the planet. Japan is a classic example of a protected economy. Their population is aging, their economy has been stagnant for decades and they are less productive then the were 20 years ago. We were afraid they were going to buy our country.
