I think the factor you have overlooked in your analysis, is that the Jets themselves, are absolute dogshit this year. Fitz is absolutely awful, and our secondary has given up the most 20+ yard TD passes in the NFL. We have zero offense, and zero ability to stop the pass. So what are you talking about with 'have a pretty good chance of getting to 5-4'. Folks, we aren't winning this year, and we should honestly hope for a top 3 pick, rather than a random little string of wins and a mid first pick. We've seen this a million times before. If we need to stink this year (which we already do), to finally get that franchise QB, then so be it.
sorry padre - season is over. even if we get lucky and wind up 9-7 we lost to our 2 likely wild card competitors(PIT and CIN). i say if we lost 2 more games its time to start playing petty and gearing for next season.. sadly.. we should me 2-3 right now because we should have a W at CIN
This isn't as hard as everyone is making it. probably at 1-6, you switch QB's and go straight to Bryce Petty, Geno sucks and is not the future. You use the rest of this season to find out if all of the CS must be fired. I think Mac should stay, there's no reason to think he's tied up in this debacle. He just got suckered into picking a little twerp linebacker that has sent this defense into a tail spin. He is not the final piece, he is the guy that has ruined at least in part ruined this defense. At the end of the season clean house because you can't do it right now as much as you would like to.
