I agree. Brandon Marshall is probably the most talented WR we've had since Keyshawn Johnson. Sure, he's dropped a few balls that a receiver of his caliber should have had, but nobody seems to remember anything but those dropped balls. Never mind some amazing catches and clutch TDs he's scored.

Right now, the two problems are Fitzpatrick the secondary, and the coaching. Just like last year, the team is never prepared for any of the games. It's as if they don't even bother to watch the Sunday Night highlights of their upcoming opponents' games. That's on Bowles and co. Fitzpatrick seems to have watched Ryan Leaf's old games and said "challenge accepted!" And Revis just needs to retire. He's not even really good enough to be in the NFL anymore.

I've just accepted that the score for this game is probably going to be something like 64-10 and Ben is going to throw for 400+ yards and 6 or more TDs, whereas Fitz is going to toss 4 INTs, 0 TDs and we'll only have maybe 200 yards total offense.

The apparent lopsidedness of this game makes it tempting to go deep early and often to out-score the Pitt machine. Mid 30's at least.

But going to the air in a shoot-out leads to a lot of 3rd and 10's, which leads to a lot of 3 and outs (and ints/sacks/fumbles). Which would give Pitt the ball about 10 more times a game. So....maybe Chan should call a solid ball control, clock control, approach. Control the down and distance, takes shots when they're there, stay away from 3rd and long.

Keep The Rapist, Bell, and Brown (and our Defense) on the sidelines as much as possible. Win time of possession with a good running game, short passes, take shots here and there, and a well rested defense to get us the ball back on 3rd downs.

There's no satisfying the customer unless the player happens to be a slam dunk hall of famer with the personality of a robot.

I usually go into each week a little optimistic.

Hard to do that this week.

    Dear Jets,
    Stop sucking.
    Thanks

The Jets D has shown its nothing special and its weakness is the strength of the Steelers offense. Expect the Steelers to be around 31 pts. The question is can the Jets offense cleanup the mistakes? The Steelers defense isn't that great. Their DL gets no push and doesn't pressure the QB (sound familiar?). They get pressure with safety blitzes, LB blitzes etc. The key to this game to me (aside from Fitz not shitting the bed yet again) is can the TE's and RB's recognize and pick up those blitzes. If so they could steal this game, if not Blow out loss.

    Steelers 34
    Jets 13

The season continues to spiral down the drain.

Through the first 4 games, Steelers and Jets are averaging the same 112.5 yards per game (rushing). Pitt has a 14yrd per game edge passing.

    Total yrd/gm:
    Jets 360
    Pitt 374

Despite Ftiz's erratic play, our offenses are almost even.

Big Ben has completed only 6 more passes this season than Fitz (92-86)

Defense needs to make some plays and we can do this. I think Skrine can do a solid job on Brown. Winters out might be a small worry but I think we be ok there. Must make plays on D, an early turnover would be amazing.

Experience, has already covered brown many times when he was with the Browns.

Also excited to see ASJ. Think we can get them with the TE in this game. No one is expecting us to use the TE and Pitt is notoriously weak against them.

Skrine is tough, smart, extremely quick & fast. So Brown is actually a good matchup for him. I think he'll play Brown, Watkins, Cooper etc. better than Revis would at this point. But against bigger wideouts I wouldn't want Skrine out there. He's so short, he lacks ball skills, he's got such short arms it seems he'll lose any battle when the ball is in the air which is why he gets flagged so often, too.

If we're going to hate on Bowles for the defense, Mac deserves at least as much if not more hate for signing Revis to that contract.
