I'm not sure anyone thinks it's a surprise, in fact it's pretty consistent with just about everything we know about the guy's attitude towards women. I think it's news only because it highlights what a crass, unserious and unlikeable buffoon he is.
As long as Trump was building walls, calling Mexicans "rapists", Blacks were "living in hell" and all Muslims should be banned from entering the country, it was all good and everyone just loved him. Once it came out that Trump was sexually harassing and/or assaulting White Women, out comes the outrage. The amazing thing in all of this is that Christian Conservatives, those self appointed keepers of American Morality are still backing the guy that would date his daughter if she wasn't his daughter. Just the very model of consistency.
