Wow, the Steelers are wearing their bumblebee uniforms. This game will be painful to watch in so many different ways.
If we had decker healthy maybe we could get lucky. The problem with steelers is Bell. That guy is so good it is friggin scary.
The rookie Juston Burris matched up with Antonio Brown..........Why do I feel like its going to conjure up memories of Vance Joseph on Tim Brown?
Oh- and Brian Winters will miss the game Sunday due to a concussion he suffered while delivering a cheap shot head butt after the play last week. yup, I'd say he is a classic Jets player.
Would Revis really sit out to avoid being burned by Brown? Fans said that last year against Beckham Jr and now again with Brown. I guess it is possible, but would be pathetic. He is being paid $17 million to cover #1 WR. Not to sit on the bench to avoid them. I have to assume he is genuinely injured. Come on now folks.
Steelers do have the 30th ranked pass d in the league. Maybe we can win a shootout. Trying to find a reason to be excited for this one.
Shootout with the Steelers? Here is the Jets choice of weapon with Fitzpatrick: Maybe we force some turnovers, but that's the only way I see the Jets winning.
I think it all depends on the decisions he's making on the field. He's taking a big step back in that regard. Steelers looked pretty good against the Chiefs. It would be nice to get a win against the Steelers again. Didn't think we had a chance in hell in 2014, but the Jets beat them then.
The chiefs game his decision making was awful, it was like he never got past his first read all game. I thought he was better last week and only one interception was really his fault. Even the one that was his fault was maybe just a better play by Sherman to read the under throw and get it. If he's on his "A" game we can try winning a shoot out. I don't see our defense slowing them down much, if at all. I think we'll need to score in the mid thirties minimum to win this.
I'm not sure that's the case really. Faced with a good D where we struggle to run and his receivers are covered he forces throws and makes bad decisions. He did this last year. He's always done it. Given a relatively poor D, healthy receivers and a run game to keep the opposition honest his limitations aren't a major problem. He can move the ball and put up points. Whether the loss of Decker and a less than 100% Marshall enables him to do this on Sunday remains to be seen though.
The Chiefs game was rock bottom and he did look better the next week. I think Fitz could've had a much better day against the Seahawks, the throw to Marshall that resulted in an INT, I blame that on miscommunication for sure, but still a lot of big plays being left on the field. Jets might not have a choice but to try and win a shootout, but it would be nice to try and generate a turnover. I don't feel good about a shootout with Brown, Bell and those weapons the Steelers got, but looks like the Jets might not have much of a choice. I hope Peake steps up this week even more.
That Chiefs game, I never seen Fitz play THAT bad. Even going back to when he was with TN / Houston. Maybe teams are catching on who knows.
- Revis, Decker and Winters ruled out this week - Quincy is questionable - Forte is banged up and likely on a snap count at least Will Chan adapt a game plan suitable to keep pace with the Steelers inevitable fast paced attack? Anderson and Peake will certainly have their metal tested in this matchup, and Fitz will have to go through his reads and not stare down receivers. Based on how our secondary has preformed so far this season I don't see our defense capable of containing them.
Yeah i agree a shootout probably wouldn't work in our favor. We don't have the fire power to match Pitt, especially on the road. The Jets D has to step up in order to win this.....and now Revis is doubtful. I'm not feeling good about this game. Maybe the front 7 can finally stuff the run, knock Ben to the ground often, and generate some turnovers.. we'd have a much better shot in a defensive struggle than a shootout.
