You're comfortable with Revis a year older, Williams, and Skrine? After all the busted coverage we've seen so far?

I don't know about that guy but I'm all for letting Burris get in the rotation at this point. What's the worst he could do? Blow a coverage?

Don't forget CB Jourdan Lewis, Michigan - 5-11.

Also at QB, keeping an eye out on Wilton Speight from Michigan. Maybe not this yr but next he could be out there.

What do you guys think of Alvin Kamara, RB of the Tennessee Volunteers? I saw part of the Tennessee/Texas A&M game yesterday, and he looked amazing.

Following up on the Raekwon McMillan reference above, ---- in looking at our ILB as of now, - its a position that has become rather concerning quite quickly.
David Harris turns 33 in Jan 2017, & lets face it - just not getting it done this year. Erin Henderson? Turns 31 early next summer. It looks like Darron Lee moved very quickly into his starting spot. We might get another year out of him, but what contribution? Bruce Carter? He turns 29 before the 2017 season & is another "backup at best" type. Other than those, I know no one else.

    Unless we pick up a FA, --- some other NCAA LBs that I really like as of today;

    Zach Cunningham - OLB - Vanderbilt - 6-3 230
2015 1st Team All-SEC. Jamie Collins comparison. Moves around from ILB to OLB. 2015 - 103 tackles 2015 (16.5 TFL). Very late 1st round / early 2nd round.

    Anthony Walker Jr. - ILB - Northwestern - 6-1 235
    2015 1st Team All-Big Ten 2015 - 122 tackles (20.5 TFL) 2nd team All-American. Bobby Wagner comparison. Late 2nd round / early 3rd.

Secondary will have to be the pick in the first or second. Our secondary couldn't stop a nosebleed. Are there any good FA CB's next year?

    I like Jabrill Peppers.

Cunningham was amazing against UGA yesterday. He had 19 tackles including a game saving tackle on 4th and 1.

Kendell Beckwith, ILB at LSU, is another good prospect. He is 6'2 252 lbs and just started playing LB in college. He had 14 tackles yesterday.

I don't care how good Beckwith looks now. I don't want any more novice players at their position. I want a player that knows how to play his position and has instincts developed from his experience.

Anthony Barr says hello lol... but really those guys are actually outliers, you just have to view the prospect for who he is.Sure being experienced is great theres something to honing in on a position and knowing exactly where to be at all times. But some guys are asked to play in certain that actually don't fit their skill sets or are asked to play multiple positions their whole lives to fit high school and college systems, that could actually be to the detriment of themselves because they never get to play one position.

As far as the draft dammit it looks like we may have to CB in the 1st AGAIN, this Arizona game was rough. Revis was ehhh, Buster looked like one , and Williams was ok i guess. I don't think i love any of the prospects, i might have do more research though.

I understand what you're saying, and there's some truth to it, but outliers or exception hit maybe 1-3 times out of 10. That's not very good odds. The Jets need players that can step in and contribute immediately and they need to know how to play their position. I'm not interested in any more Gholstons who had only been playing football 2-3 years, Scott Frosts or others whom the Jets drafted who were similar. I'm also not interested in drafting a player who excelled in a different system than what we will be utilizing here. We need players whose skill sets will match the systems we're using.

I have no doubt that he could step in and play right away with the Jets. At LSU, he has had to learn 3 different defenses in 4 years.

What concerns me is that I have no idea what D we are playing. Are we 3-4 or 4-3? Gruden made a point last night when he said we have 4 good DTs and no real 4-3 DE.

Keep in mind, B Marshall has talked retirement and may be playing his final year. Decker is going to be coming back off surgery next year and will be in the final year of his contract. Enunwa and Peake have bright futures, Anderson sucks. He is fast but small and has terrible hands. J.Marshall has potential. None are game breakers or players that the D has to scheme against. WR is not our biggest need but is definitely an area that has to be addressed . Likely 2018 draft. I guess until there is a QB who can pass the ball. WRs are more luxury then necessity

Fitzgerald has been talking about retirement too, now says that isn't the case.

Moral of the story: everyone wants to retire but can't escape the itch of the game.

True but Fitzgerald is not on the Jets , claimed he never talked retirement, made a statement dismissing the rumor while Marshall has talked retirement publicly since the end of last season, and is itching to get in the broadcast booth. I think it's tough for any athlete to walk away from the game, but it seems that more players are doing just that in the NFL. Could Marshall return next year, absolutely.

I think Marshall really wants a shot at the playoffs. Chances are slim to none this year, if not next year with the Jets he may try with a contender for another year.
