Dumb ass strategy by Collins in the first 3 innings. The one inning they make him work he throws 30 pitches.. His PC can easily be over 60 right now if they employed this from the get go. So stupid
I don't blame Collins at all for that. These are major leaguers who know that Bumgarner loves to have low pitch counts. The manager shouldn't have to say anything to them.
Totally disagree. The Manager absolutely goes into each game with some sort of strategy on how to work a pitcher -- attack early in the count or make him work. There is no way this is a free for all and just go up there and swing whenever they want.
Real bad baserunning by TJ Rivera there - there's no excuse for getting caught in the rundown. Now there's a catcher at second base.
I'm sure that in the meetings beforehand they were told to try to work the count. There is absolutely no reason to think that Collins told them to swing at the first pitches. And it wouldn't be Collins anyway, it would be the hitting coach.
Whoever it was is a moron. Look at the difference between innings 1-3 and 4-5. I think I actually saw some sweat on MadBum's forehead. Can't believe we get a lead off double and don't scratch him across. Bruce really needed to get him over

Bumgarner obviously is unhappy that Syndegaard is more than matching him. Watch him go into one of his idiotic tirades next inning when someone dares to look at him.
What a terrible terrible play by Loney - he HAS to make that play. Dive if you have to, and then throw it to second.
Even if Syndegaard doesn't bat, I think that's it for him - pinch hit or double switch, but bring in Reed either way.
Absolutely. He barely put any effort into that. Luckily that ball didn't scurry off farther and Cabrera couldn't get to it
