...so what you meant to say is we have BOTH of the worst QBs in the NFL. That has to count for a conditional draft pick or something, no?
The next set of hires this team makes should be based as much as possible into solving this QB riddle at all costs. If they never win us a single game but find the answer at QB..they'd be worth the excess. -QB Guru head coach -QB driven player personnel -GM w. proven track record of evaluating,acquiring & developing QBs Seriously. It's not funny anymore. Enough dilly dallying w. the most important position on the field. If you have to trade 10 first rounders to accomplish it...fine..it takes us 10 1sts to fix the biggest positional void in sports.
Geno should get from now until the bye....then Petty should get the rest of the season if Geno doesn't look improved a good amount from the last time we saw him That would actually be a good start....Its not like we'd be missing anything by benching Fitz anyway except maybe now we would have a chance to win a few games and not be starting the very worst QB in the league After that, If both Petty and Geno aren't good enough, then we can go to your plan Hackenberg I don't have much faith in so that's also a wildcard
According to NFL.com 45 QBs have thrown at least 1 pass. Our boy Kellen Clemens is in last with 0-1. Below Fitz are Case Keenum (121 ATT, 55.4%), Shaun Hill (33 ATT, 54.5%), RG III (26 ATT, 46.2%), Drew Stanton (15 ATT, 33.3%). So if you wanted to have a serious conversation with QBs who've thrown more than 50 passes, then Fitz is 2nd to last.
Petty should get it all and I only say that because if the Jets had any interest at all in keeping Smith they would have at least given him one more year before the season started. They are done with him and he is done with them, don't waste the time letting him play now even if the season is lost. And when you think about it that may be the only reason Fitzpatrick hasn't been benched, they made Smith the backup thinking they would never have to use him.
