Give the guy a chance. Think of it this way. What halfway competent coach would want to come to a franchise that fired the previous coach after one winning and one losing season?
I dont think he should be fired eithor, but he has to do something with the coordinators.. chans play calling has been suspect and rodgers has been awful. He should replace rodgers now if he wants to salvage the season. Fitz has been disgusting but The pass defense has to be the worst in the nfl.. its not working and the d line is getting pressure.. how guys are running wide open all the time is an issue. I hope he doesnt have any rex in him where hes going go down with his people. Rodgers should go. Defense has to much talent to be this bad
In the same universe where Bowles gets fired, Belichick resigns from the Patriots. He then rethinks his position on Woody Johnson and is open to returning to the Jets. I would then want Belichick as a coach
At 8 - 8, probably not. What about 6 - 10? Or 4 - 12? How about if the Jets only win one more game? Free pass? What about running into a school bus while getting a BJ from a sixteen year old while his wife is locked in the trunk, beaten and naked next to the portable meth lab while freebasing?
I'm an pissed at Bowles as anyone with this sorry ass team at the moment, but we need to stop the god damn coaching carousel. Let someone try to build something here before we clean house before they get to even set shit up. We're 4 games in. Let's see how the next 12 go before we're getting rid of our head coach...
Mooch? Coughlin? Herm Edwards? ROFLMFAO!!! Dude, you need to put the crack pipe down. Your brain is fried. Who in the hell is Matt patrica?
Then the Jets will NEVER win another SB. Most of the HCs in their history have been first-time HCs and they all failed, most miserably! Do you even pay attention?
I respect you and your opinion, but I swear, you make some of the stupidest comments sometimes. Being a good HC is about much more than his W-L record. One has to look at whether he seems to have a handle on managing the game as well as the team. One has to consider whether he is learning and growing in the job or keeps doing things the same way and failing, or worse, regressing. One has to consider if he has answers to the team's problems. One has to look at his game plans and if he is able to make adjustments in game. One has to look at whether he holds players and his CS accountable and has the team playing well. One has to consider how the team won and lost its games. Does the team play smart, tough, disciplined football, or does it play flat, emotionless, commit stupid penalties, turn the ball over and continuously make the same mental errors? Does he have a position coach or a coordinator that is a problem, or is he just not managing them well? One has to consider if he's putting the players in a position to succeed. One has to look if he's blindly and stubbornly sticking to a system or player who aren't playing well, of if he makes the necessary changes. One has to consider how he handles the media. One has to consider if he's doing a good job developing young players. If the team continues to struggle, beating itself most weeks and only finishes with 5-6 wins when they easily should have won 8-10 games, why should he be given another chance? What makes you think he will develop? He certainly didn't fix any of his issues from last year, and in fact has regressed badly. How does regressing badly give you confidence that he will develop if given more time? How many seasons are the Jets supposed to wait (waste) hoping he will develop?
Jim Schwartz because he knows how to build defenses around good lineman. Players like Suh and Dareus haven't been the same since he left:
I don't think McDaniels will ever get an NFL HC job again after the crap he pulled in Denver. He will likely have go to the college ranks to prove to NFL owners that he could handle the job. Sumlin and Herman aren't going to the NFL
We need a disciplinarian, which is where the Herm and couglin thoughts come from. Mooch is one of the all time greats doubt he would ever quit his easy money job on TV but if he wanted he would get snatched up quickly. Same for Cowher and gruden. Matt patrica pats D coordinator. On mcdaniels I think he will be the future head coach of the Pats, might be ready now. He wasn't before. He left once before, he would do it again.
