Weren't they top ten in the red zone and rushing, and last in passing offense?, if I remember correctly.
I would have to check on the passing stats, but I do remember them being a top ten rushing team in both of his seasons as our OC.
His success was because he had players that fit his WCO system. Here, he not only didn't, he had little talent to work with, and was incapable of altering his talent to fit the talent he had on hand.

i pointed all this out in the offseason. you are exactly right. i dread hearing those words again " fitz gives us the best chance to win" !///// no, he does not. popgun arm, balloon passes. ball moves slowly, giving db time to close. last year , lot of his throws were off the mark but wideout made great effort catches. now, with a tougher schedule against better teams/defenses, he gets easily exposed. look at what kc secondary did to him while big ben shredded them with ease.
If the Jets continue their slide, and wind up 1-5, I think it's time to see what Petty can do. At that point the season is over, and I'd like to know if there is anything there. There isn't a huge amount of pressure on him, since the season is a bust anyway. At least I'll have a reason to watch the games. This is getting painful. I've been a Jets fan for almost 40 years, and for the first time I'm seriously doubting whether I'll witness a championship in my lifetime.

Except Bowles is on the hot seat and will try to do what's best for Bowles and win meaningless games rather than doing anything good for the team
