Can't keep hiring and firing people every 2 years. They were fucking 10-6 last year, overachieved. Looks like they're going to underachieve this year, but they were due for regression and the roster is clearly overrated.
I'm not blaming Bowles just yet. We all saw the schedule and knew it was going to be struggle. As PJ4Ever said the organization can't keep on firing and hiring coach because the team goes in a mini tailspin. Let's see how this finishes and what the organization does next off season. I understand what you're saying, and in general, I agree, but imo it's pointless to retain a HC who clearly doesn't get it and isn't learning, growing or improving on the job. At least to date, Bowles did a much better job last season than he is this season. He's had major injuries to contend with this season, but the team has come out flat, they've looked unprepared, they're beating themselves with mental errors, the game plans are flawed and there are no adjustments/corrections being made, whereas last year, even when we lost, we were seeing signs that the CS was making adjustments during the games, something we never saw with Rex & Co. Bowles has obviously regressed, as has the team, in spite of having better depth, more speed, and more talent. Stability only will come with having the right leadership/CS in place. At this point, it isn't looking like Bowles & Company will provide that stability. If he isn't learning, improving and growing on the job, then he could be here 10 years and there still wouldn't be any stability. I wouldn't say they were due for "regression." With a tougher schedule, I'd say that expecting them to win 10 games this season against better Ds was unrealistic. IMO a team should never "regress." They should always be improving, learning from their mistakes and not beating themselves. The roster is obviously overrated.
I think Bowles is just being outcoached as well as his players outplayed. It looks like teams are pretty much just running the same types of plays week in and week out. Stack the box, force Fitz to throw under pressure and constantly shred our crappy secondary. It's like Bowles knows he's outclassed. He just had that look of, "Oh shit! I've been found out." Let's hope he finds a way to adapt or we've had it.
Why not let Kacy Rodgers go? He has to be partially responsible for the lackluster defensive play. Despite being a top 10 defense, lets face, it, we should be at least top 5 with this talent. Unlike the offense, which I think is more of a lack of execution, there seems to be something wrong with the entire scheme of the D.
He's not going anywhere that's the reality of the situation. No way he's being fired. He's done a lousy job no doubt we are unprepared uninspired and playing dumb but he's our coach next year so that's that. Another year like this then maybe he's on the hot seat
If Mac hires another newbie to learn how to be an HC, I'm gonna seriously have to consider backing away from this organization. The definition of insanity is doing the same things over and over expecting a different result and Woody Johnson continues to do exactly that and... he continues to get the same fair to middlin results sprinkled in with the occasional playoff run every decade or so. Because of where this franchise is at historically, the next HC hire assuming there is one coming in the near future, has to be a guy with an successful resume as a prior HC. What this team is lacking is credibility which was all but flushed with Rex. This team needs someone with a solid HC resume. Someone who has done it before. #NoMoreFirstTimers
Or the team is just old and slow. This is a team that needs draft picks...draft picks spent on speed.

I can see Rodgers gone. I don't see Fitz or Geno coming back and if that happens, I don't think you'll see Gailey come back either. I can see the Jets going full blown rebuild but not starting from zero as the Front 4 and the New Kids on the offense are the core they'll build around. I can see Mac taking the pressure off Bowles by publically stating we're in rebuild/retool mode starting at the Qb position. I can see an honest Qb competition for the first time in the 21st century for this team. To accomplish any of the above, the Jets will also have to publically move away from the "win now" mantra and if that means certain Wr's want out of their contract, let them go. I can also see Bowles on the hotseat if this year continues on a 4-12 trajectory. I'm praying Woody just stays far away from any decision making when it comes to hirings.
They fired Idzik after 2 years and the way Maccaghan has wasted money they might fire him after two years too and if he goes Bowels definitely goes.
IMO its not too early because I think the fans, the media ,everyone gave them a free pass last year ! There are zero excuses for what we are watching on Sundays . A few things that should have already happened were to make adjustments to what we are doing especially after we had 10 days to prepare for KC and came out looking like crap, next players should be benched for performance, after that assistant coaches on the hot seat ! Then we work our way up,,,,,,,,,,you cannot just trot out there each week like Rex did and say we had a great week of practice or we are going to look at film or in TB case say I am not sure why this is happening but we will get it right and make changes if necessary ,,,thats insane changes should be made NOW ! Accountability , I mean do your job well get praised , stink up the joint and get called out ! i DONT WANT FIRE AND BRIMSTONE JUST RESULTS , I want the coach to stand at the mic and say this is unacceptable and is going to stop and the following week see the results not more of the same and coachspeakk. I hate Geno and think he is terrible but for Fitz to throw 9 ints in 2 games and be trotted out there is again insane .Same goes for playing a scheme 8 or 10 yards off WR its nuts . I could go on but the season is not done yet but its getting there. Don't sell us on talk and that you are going to get it right show us results or show guys the door !
