On the other hand, he does not appear to be some kind of offensive genius. Or special teams. Or motivational. Or clock management. Or personnel usage. Shit - we're fucked.
When you acknowledge that your GP, exec, coaching was sh*ty. What made you think it wasn't before that? After yesterday's fiasco, if we go 1-5 which is a distinct possibility, I can see the Billboards and over head fly bys starting...
The worst part of the game was that after 5 turnovers it was still 17-3 and we got to the redzone twice and Fitz throws 2 picks.Jalin Marshall shouldnt be allowed to return another kick in the NFL.
You know what? I'll agree with you Let's see how it goes But If after 2016, the guy keeps coming out flat, doesn't adjust, is a wet rag, and shows no improvement- you'll have to admit he was a bad HC Honestly I hope I'm wrong and I hope you rub it in My face.... I just want a good fucking SB team for once since 1969 Give me that- would u at least give me that? (Robert deniro voice)
Bowles demeanor is irrelevant. animated/loud coaches are "motivators" when they win and "loud mouths" when they lose. calm coaches are "disciplined and collective" when they win and "complacent and in a coma" when they lose. the real issue with bowles is preperation and adjustment. I said it before KC, the ONE thing you cant do if you expect to beat KC is turn it over. all week bowles should have been preaching and demanding ball security and being smart with the ball. im going to put 70% of the blame on fitz, but the rest has to go on bowles for not drilling this home with 10 days to prepare and not refocusing the team on it mid game. go to gailey, go to fitz, tell them we dont need to force throws. sit fitz for a series to get the point across. you knew KC wasnt gonna turn it over and was gonna manage a ball control game. bigtime prepration fail on bowles.
fitz is like 60-70% to blame. but a good coach isnt having his qb be a reckless farve like gun slinger throwing blindly into coverage without every correcting it. a good coach is preaching ball protection vs a team like KC that thrivs on turnovers and doesnt turn it over themselves and looks to manage the game. houston just showed us the blueprint to beat them. we have guys fumbling all over and a qb being reckless with the ball alot of that is coaching. in game its a "fool me once..." type thing. first few brutal turnovers are on fitz, after that its on the coaching. it was just 6 picks also, at least 3 or 4 others should have been picked
Bowles is definitely not an in game X's and O's kind of guy. He just stands there and watches the game, never doing much for players or groups of players. Our defense, especially in the secondary is regressing due to his choice of play scheme. The majority of our defense is geared toward man/bump n run, but we sit in zone so much it isn't funny. Sure we have personnel problems in the secondary, but watching receivers run routes underneath then catch a pass and run for 5-15 yards sucks. Bowles is taking the strength of our team away. Any QB can beat our pressure with a one step drop and dump to a receiver who's defender is 5-10 yards down field giving cushion. Wasn't Bowles a secondary guru? On offense, we can't run the ball because our line is average at its best. We ran on the Bills because we didn't face their total 1st string up front. If we did, we would probably be 0-3 right now. If had tried to run the ball against KC the majority of plays, we wouldn't have had anything to show for it. They don't get any push, never driving the D-line back. We tried early, but Forte wasn't going anywhere and it was very apparent. Our O-line, and our secondary are our glaring weak spots. Unless something changes in both of those areas, we will be lucky to win 6 games. If Bowles keeps coaching like he has, we should get rid of his ass and find a real head coach and stop hiring coordinators who are looking to land their first head coaching gig. Shitty game plans that he even admitted to. Zero in game adjustments, despite the need. 10 days of preparation heading into a crucial AFC game, and our team looked the least prepared it had all season. The players themselves didn't even look like they were ready to play. All this falls on one guy......Coach!
None of this coach talk matters. If you turn the ball over you will lose. Fumbles happen and you hope it doesn't cost points. When your QB is average he will be good maybe 50% of the time. On those days they better win. Top QB's are good about 85% of the time. They have more margin for error. Coaches with average QB's better hope they get lucky from time to time and win with other parts of the game. Give any coach a big QB and he will win. The NFL by rule is QB centered, unfortunately. Can't win big without an above average one and the Jets lack that player.
Quincy returned the last kickoff, and did a pretty good job. I have a feeling it is going to be him bringing out the kicks against Seattle.
How we do know Bowles didnt get the team prepared and have them ready to play? I understand it sucks to watch your team play like crap, but how can any of us know that it was an indictment on Bowles. Seems a bit lazy IMO. Like the team played bad, may as well blame it on the coaches lack of preparation and gameplan. Maybe the gameplan would have worked if the QB didnt throw 6 interceptions, and 6 more "almost interceptions." The gameplan could have worked if Jalin Marshall doesnt toss the ball to the other team for 6. I highlight doubt the gameplan entailed 45 bad throws. You can preach ball control all week, but at the end of the day, its up to the team to execute and do their part. I dont want anyone to misconstrue this into me saying Bowles is great. He is a serious work in progress. He's made some terrible mistakes (not going for 2, clock management). I just think this whole "didnt have his team ready to play" is such an unquantifiable complaint. I think not pulling Fitz was a mistake. We were still in the game, and Fitz threw 3 or 4 passes in a row and one finally got intercepted. At that point, I thought Geno should have come in. He couldnt have done any worse, and maybe he could provide a bit of a spark.
My problem with this is that Bowles took the damage with his comments to protect his team. He didn't go all Rex Ryan, but there were moments. I live in San Antonio and have been a Spurs fan for many years, and it's kind of refreshing to see Coach Pop come out and give credit to the other team, and basically say "we sucked, what else do you want me to say? You wouldn't even understand if I told you what went wrong." Yeah, big bad NY media my ass, we all know these douchebag writers know less about football than most people on this forum, so I think the SMART FANS would understand. There's a time to go media silence and this game was it.
Bowles has a vagina and that's why he sucks as a HC. Anyone who plays not to lose, has a vagina..........
I wonder how big this thread will be by the end of the season. Or whether he will still be here to see how big.
You are an intelligent and passionate fan. Reading so many of your posts shows that to me.....no doubt. Enjoy reading your stuff. That said, our team is a work in progress and that includes our head coach. Great head coaches don't want to come here. We need to build from scratch. We need to get lucky. People keep saying to throw in our young quarterbacks and let them learn through the mistakes they will no doubt make. Our head coach is going through his growing pains >>> Give him the season at least. We need to grow our head coach. A great one isn't coming here. Super bowl winning coaches who switch teams, i don't believe have ever won another ring. Enjoy reading your posts. Have patience, my Jet brother. Some day we'll get our quarterback. Some day we'll get our head coach.
!9 games plus DC experience means he should have learned something IMO you hire a Coach to start winning right away or at least keep losses close TB lacks passion urgency and time clock management This means danger Will Robinson
The eagles didnt hire Pederson to be a winner immediately. So thats not always the case. Luck has just been on their side. I think we achieved alot last season and we tend to forget we were a work in progress and still are. Sent from my SM-N930V using Tapatalk
Bowles doesn't call the offense OR defense. That's 100% on his coordinators. Once the whistle sounds, Bowles is a spectator.
