No, he doesn't. I think you're under the same illusion the Jets are that the 2011 Bills offense was:

    A. Good
    B. Hasn't lost a step

I don't mind it for depth, but realistically at this point spiller is a worse version of powell with injury concerns. I wish robinson didn't get hurt, he would have been the perfect short yardage back for us. we need a bruiser RB

  3. He brings added value to the Jets b/c he can catch the ball out of the backfield & knows Gailey's system. Whether he's dynamic w/ the ball after the catch or on running plays remains to be seen. That said if he's still functional which will be revealed via the workout..there's no reason this can't be a nice short term fit.You need a 3rd back..and this is another accomplished vet who maybe on the downside..but knows the system & is functional in it.

What you say is true, but I'm not sure if it's worth it to add another old veteran and possibly wind up losing a young, up and coming player to make room for him on the roster.

  6. I'd like to see what Pope can do first before making any kind of move. But I kinda get the feeling the jets are mum on what he's done in practice.

One way or another they've gotta have a 3rd back here. Forte will play through anything but he does need a change of pace & a break once in awhile. Powell runs hot/cold & also gets overworked. I know we are pass first but if Fitz is the best we got..we've got to be explosive in running game.

We can send one of these fringe TE's packing to upgrade the depth of this running attack. All the good WR's in the world aren't gonna make up for Fitz.We need to take the Air Gailey attack down a notch & do the only thing this offense can consistently do well.Run the ball.

I agree, Kurt. I think the Jets will eventually probably cut one of the TEs loose, but they're waiting to see how ASJ responds, works and fits in. If he comes in, works hard, learns the system and can stay healthy, I could see their letting go of Davis or Bostick (hopefully Davis, as I think Bostick plays STs and is a better receiver). They could also send Braedon Bowman back to the PS. I think 4 RBs makes more sense than 4 TEs.

  8. Yeah.Seems like they're taking the same approach to at TE that they've taken w. the lack of OL depth. Keep a few extra niche types & dress them according to game plan.

That said..ASJ could potentially solve that issue..but has to show it first.

Great, now he has a huge day against us. We should use Pope to counter that.

Better hope Davis doesn't own a gun. He is probably on a plane heading for NY right now with no internet service.

Solid pickup. Plug and play in Chan's offense.

Plug and play what? Forte gets over 90% of touches.

It's interesting. Either it's to return punts and kicks or someone is hurt either Powell or Forte in the RB stable.

    MOOHHAAHA

You guys forget the incredibly obvious fact that now that BPowell is one of our backup QBs we have to sling someone else out there to do some running...its all clear to me now in the Bowles/Gailey bizzarro world
