I'd take 3-3. but i don't see us winning in Pitt. pressure is on to beat Seattle AND win in Ariz just to get there now.
I think we can win all 3. Pitts defense is terrible but they have great recievers. Well win 2 of the 3, im just not sure which 2. Sent from my SM-N930V using Tapatalk
Unless we throw Petty or Hack out there we have little options at QB other than RF Unless you think our two young guys will be a Wentz or Dak Prescott come game day we all have to hope Fitz gets back on target or the Coach grows a brain or both Personally I am very disappointed in Fitz but I also know if we put Petty in hes got to be better and smarter than Geno Jmho
everyone in the AFC east has had THE QB over the last 30 or so years - Brady, Marino, Kelly........ it could be our turn next, who knows. but i don't necessarily subscribe to the theory that u keep drafting until u find one.......yes in a 12 round draft, but not in todays 7 round sprint. u really have to be tactical and practical.
hopefully we'll catch a break along the way. Wilson being out would be a nice start. either way, have to play better in all 3 phases than yesterday, and coaches need to step up and maximize this talent.
Are you serious? Pitt got handled by a crappy philly team that needed 5 turnovers to seperate from the bears. This team can win any of these games as long as they dont kill themselves. Sent from my SM-N930V using Tapatalk
Beating Pitt is almost a necessity at this point for WC slotting. Already lost to cinci and KC who we won't have tiebreakers over unless there is a 3 way tie. We also need to beat Baltimore when we play them
After the beat down the Bills put on the Cardinals yesterday, we ought to be able to beat the Cardinals. If we lose to them, especially if it's badly, I think Bowles' job might seriously be in jeopardy.
Bowles' job is not even close to being in jeopardy. if they lost 55-0 on the road to Arizona it wouldn't be either (they won't lose 55-0 to arizona)
You're probably right, but imo it should be. Bowles' specialty is Defensive secondary and our secondary has sucked. The team had 10 days to prepare for KC and came out flat, Fitz threw the game away and Bowles stood there with his thumb up his ass and didn't even consider pulling Fitz. There have been zero in-game adjustments this season. The game plans have been severely flawed. His clock management is still a joke. Unless he has an immediate family member dying or is having serious health problems himself to distract him, imo there's no excuse for this. While I'm still in shock that we pulled out the win last week, it wasn't because anything Bowles did, and we could just have easily have lost that game. If he had pulled Fitz yesterday for a series or two, it could have changed the outcome of yesterday's game. Mac didn't hire Bowles. He owes him nothing, and I seriously doubt that he will sit there and allow his own job to become in jeopardy if the team continues to struggle and beat themselves. This team has talent and at the very least should be 2-1 at this point and the Buffalo game should have been a laugher, not a comeback squeaker. IMO Bowles is coaching himself out of a job.
The thing is, both QBs are not prepared to start. Bowles and Mac IMO wasted their time giving Fitz all of those reps in training camp. Dak and Wentz were ready to start because they took a lot of reps in training camp.
IMO u are wrong. I don't think yesterday is a game to overreact about in general but what I don't understand is how the same people who give Bowles a lot of heat somehow praise Maccagnan... ? Especially as it pertains to the issues you are describing!! Maccagnan's the genius that held a standoff all offseason just to pay Fitzpatrick what he wanted anyway. So if Fitz is your problem, look at him. The secondary as well. It's Bowles' fault they are struggling but not the guy who gave a declining Revis $17 mil a year, an average guy like Buster Skrine $7 mil a year and a guy in Gilchrist, who SD was happy to get rid of btw, $6 mil a year. I'm not ready to put up billboards myself but lets be real. If you want to give heat to leadership you can't throw it at Bowles and ignore Maccagnan. I had some problems with the playcalling on offense yesterday but I believe it was mostly an execution problem... aka the player's fault. But days like that will happen, especially on the road against an opportunistic defense. I also don't think they came out "flat" they just kept giving the damn ball away
I just don't get why when they get the ball on the 6 yard line or close to the endzone, they almost never run the ball on 1st. I get that faking the run and passing it can work, but stop it on first down, they see it from a mile away, and then it makes you play catchup for the rest of the series. The Chiefs one big weakness has been their rushing defense and we barely even ran the ball. They should have been RUN RUN RUN for that series. That reminds me of Schotty, always going for deception, rather than exploiting the other team's weaknesses.
what concerns me is bowles looking "shocked" at a reporter after the game who broached the subject of benching fitz... Let's hope bowles is not ridiculously loyal to fitz the way rex was to sanchez ("Mark gives us the best chance to win.") following each and every Sanchez debacle--consider how long elway put up with sanchez this summer.
I can't believe I forgot this part of the game.. down 17-3 at half with 3 TOs and the Chiefs sitting in a 3rd and long and we don't want the ball back?? UHM HELLO TODD!! You're down 2 scores and they get the ball at halftime. Why the hell are you not trying to get the ball back. Make them punt!! Anything can happen on a punt! Letting them run the clock down was just idiocy. Someone has to inform him the timeouts don't carry over..
Fair enough. We'll just have to agree to disagree. We don't know for certain what happened regarding Fitz. For all we know, Mac may have been prepared to roll with Geno, Petty and Hack, but Bowles kept clamoring for Fitz. To be fair, Mac could share some or all of the blame. Perhaps he held off paying as long as he could but then in the end, caved in the game of chicken with Fitz. If you'll recall, I was against re-signing Fitz. I wanted to roll with Geno, Petty and Hack or bring in another vet. I thought Fitz was not worth what he was asking. We may never know what happened there. I can understand why Mac brought Revis back although I thought the money was crazy. The Jets had the worst secondary in the NFL. He had a new HC whose D relied on a shutdown corner. No one could have foreseen that Revis' play would take a nose dive like this. I'm not so sure that SD was "happy" to get rid of Gilchrist. I've never read anything to that extent, and in fact, all the articles I read said that Gilchrist was a good player. I think he was the best available, and Mac signed him to a shorter-term contract that would handcuff the team if he didn't work out. He signed Skrine to be the slot corner, and I think he's been pretty darned good in that role. Mac doesn't coach the team. He doesn't prepare game plans or make in-game adjustments if things aren't working. He doesn't judge the team's "temperature" and make sure they're ready to play in a big game. That's all Bowles. Mac's job is to find talent and this team has a ton of talent. It's the HC's job to get that talent to play well and execute. Thus, it's easy to blame Bowles and not Mac.
The fault there does not lie with the guy trying to do his best. It lies with the guy who told him to get on the field.
