A very nice way of saying it. I was mortified as to how pathetic Fitz looked out there. I just about had it with Fitz and his massive inconsistencies.

We need to step back here. Fitz had a bad game. He has had more good games than bad ones for this franchise. After last weeks great game the Jets rightly didn't extend his contract and anoint him the long term answer. And they shouldn't bench him after today's debacle. At least for a few more weeks.

But one thing is for sure. He is not the guy. I thought if he showed more consistency he could have a Gannon like blossoming in his mid 30's. But he showed today he doesn't play smart and doesn't do the most important thing a veteran QB with a questionable arm should do. Protect the ball and manage the game!

If you're Bowles and you put Geno in and he does worse it is your head....

That's definitely not the case. Its his head off Fitz keeps playing like this and he does nothing. 2 stinkers in 3 games

Geno could arguably have done worse. It's Bowles and his failure to adjust.

There's no way Geno could have been any worse than Fitz today. People have bad days. After Fitz threw 3 picks and was missing receivers, locking onto receivers and throwing into double and triple coverage, no one in their right mind could have blamed TB for benching Fitz.

Agreed with Hack, but Petty I think would be fine. A bunch of rookies and first year QBs doing well this year. Why not Petty?

Well, as I said earlier, I think he's still injured, but if not, I just think it's too early. Geno's here for a reason. If we're not going to play him, we might as well trade or cut him now and use the roster spot for another player. I think Geno should be given the chance first for 3 games. If he succeeds, great. If not, and he plays as poorly in all 3 games as Fitz did today, then that's fine too, the Jets won't have any lingering doubts, and he'll be gone at the end of the season (if not sooner), and then they can hand the ball to Petty.

Sounds like a plan. I doubt the Jets would jump to Petty anyway.

We missed the boat, hired Bowles because he was a Jet. Major fucking mistake, should have waited for Dan Quinn.

Look at their offense, we could be them or better. Quinn was the proper signing.

To their credit they also have a honest to God starting quality Qb to run it through.

One plus point of this game is that it allowed me to switch it off before midnight in the UK and get some much needed sleep. After three games I expected us to be 1-2 after six games I expect us to be 2-4, I just hope that the teams heads haven't dropped so much after this terrible performance (by Fitz) that they can't regroup for the 'easier' part of the schedule.

After sleeping on this for a few hours I think I can more calmly bring up a few things I noticed.

    First Bowles clock management sucks.

Secondly did it seem to like they didn't run the ball as much when they got done by a bunch of points? This left the defense on the field far too long. It opened up Fitz's propensity to make stupid throws, something that it is no secret he does and we all saw where it led.

Did anyone notice there were two throws Fitz made which looked like nothing more than intentional attempts to get pass interference calls? The one it definitely was obvious the defender couldn't get around to it fast enough so he just chucked the ball at his receiver so it hit him to draw the call. It moves the chains sure but why are we doing the this all of a sudden? If Decker and Marshall aren't 100% then obviously they have to come up with some strategy, however this doesn't seem like the best of ideas. Was Fitz trying to be clever or is this something the coaches came up with. If it's actual pass interference it's one thing, these just seemed like quick throws that would look like pass interference to draw flags.

Why the heck did they abandon the slants when they started working only to have Fitz randomly hurl the ball into coverages? Surely that call had to have been from coaching but why?

Where is the adjustment? They beat the Bills because Rex rarely adjusts anything only to get beaten for the same reason?

It seemed like the team as a whole got nervous when they were down 17-3, this team can put up points quickly. Bowles stands their smugly on the sideline. Show some emotion, fire the guys up, get them to calm down, something, anything.

If you bench Fitz, then sit Revis, Pryor and B.Marshall right with him because they all sucked balls too yesterday.
