Our offense can easily be negated by sitting on the underneath routes. Did y'all see how the safeties played today? Shadow the 1 and 2, Play LBs over the middle and Fitz can't do a damn thing. Fitz doesn't have an arm, the throw last week to Enunwa was extremely uncharacteristic. We have only delayed the inevitable. Last year we had the easiest schedule in YEARS, 1 game away from the playoffs in 5 years and the real Fitz shows his face. He's not hard to figure out. Our defense played terrible at first but kept us in it. Great QB's need 1 opening, good QB's need 2, terrible QB's have it served to them on a platter and manage to turn it over. That's what Fitz did. Geno is more than capable to at least zing it around. We should have given Geno the nod with nothing to lose. Our schedule is brutal. Now we are stuck with a "Harvard grad" that can't even grasp the concept of sliding. Can't wait for Fitz to barely break 1:1 TD:INT ratio over the next 13 games. It's gonna be great. Sanchez in his rookie year didn't even manage to break 5 INT's in a single game. This bum should ride the pine for the rest of the season. That's the Fitz that will show up when it counts. They have seen it twice, and believe me it won't be the last if they keep him behind center.
It's too early for Petty time. Besides, I think that he's still injured. I definitely think that Fitz should be benched and Geno given the start next week. If not, then Fitz should be given a very short leash. The second badly missed pass he throws, or first TO and he's on the bench until further notice.
I would say that if a player of 12 seasons needs an offseason to not be terrible they probably shouldn't be a starter, let alone at QB.
Fitz would have actually played better if he was TRYING to dump the game, he would have taken pains not to be that obvious making bad throws.
I mean it's easy to say that now but then how do you reconcile him being AFC Offensive player of the week last week and then this week being total garbage? It's not like rust dissapeared for a week.
Which game do you think was the anomaly? Last week's great game or this weeks shit show? I think Fitz is just a journeyman with good and bad days. His talent is somewhere between last week and today. Just depends on which part of the sine wave he's riding on any given Sunday. The great ones are consistent. Fitz is what his career says he is. Journeyman.
Geno WAS awful throwing to the likes of Chaz Shilens..We don't know how he'd do throwing to Marshall or Decker or Enumwa.
I agree and that is not what a professional football team needs at the QB position. Maybe they can get away with it as a safety or a guard but not a QB.
fitz handicaps this team by taking snaps away from petty/hack and geno. we are not moving forward if we are running fitz out there. but this front office and h.c. saw what happened to the last regime when they tried to develop a qb and not worry about being competitve so we this is what we get. call it the unintended consequences of people getting what they wanted
