Right, because of all the Super Bowls and Championships Belichick won as head coach before he had Brady. Oh wait........
No, but being suspended for 4 games due to cheating (Deflategate) along with his team losing a 1st round draft pick due to cheating (spygate), does. N.E's "success" (like it or not) has been and will always and forever be tainted with ****Asterisk's****. Bill Belichick & Tom Brady will imo go down as the NFL's version of Lance Armstrong & Barry Bonds. What makes it hilarious for fans around the league but yet disheartening for N.E faithful is that you can't name another franchise who's head coach has been fined (spygate), team loses a 1st round draft pick (spygate) followed by years later their starting QB suspended for 4 games (deflategate) all due to and because of... Cheating. I'd much rather be an N.Y Jets fan who's yet to enjoy and witness a Championship than being a N.E Patriots fan having to defend all of this shit. Hopefully one day I'll witness my Jets & Knicks win a Championship Title but at least it'll taste sweet and full of enjoyment, rather than bitter surrounded by doubt, fines, suspensions & loss of draft picks. There's a real reason why the NFL hid & destroyed video evidence and documents surrounding Spygate. They destroyed all evidence in order to save the integrity of the game in which Belichick, Brady & Kraft have continued to try and ruin.
This seems totally reasonable. Everything the Patriots do well is due to cheating. Makes total sense to me. Thanks for clearing it all up! /NFLseason
Cassel won 11 games against a very weak schedule for the AFC East. It was so weak the Phins won 11 games that year. They only beat 2 teams with winning records that year, splitting with the Phins and Jets (9-7). Even the shitshow Bills were 7-9 that year. The only actual good teams they played, the Colts, Chargers, and Steelers, beat them handily.
Funny how the Pats fans are defending Brady. If you're a Pats fan you should hope that Belichick is the reason for your success because Belichick is going to stick around longer than Brady.
Does Tom Brady play defense? Every year, Belichick takes a bunch of nobodys and castoffs and patches together a solid defense.
I'm not necessarily saying that at all. What I am saying is that N.E's reputation and accomplishments are both tarnished and tainted under the Belichick & Brady era. When's the last time a Jets QB was suspended for at least 4 games due to cheating? Or better yet when was the last time any NFL franchise has had a loss of a 1st round draft pick due to cheating? Because Tom Brady is currently suspended and N.E has lost two 1st round draft picks under Belichick and Brady. One for spygate and one for deflategate. Dating back to 1980 the N.E Patriots have been the only team stripped of a 1st round draft pick and it's happened to N.E not once, but twice. Tainted. Tarnished. Asterisks. Call it what you call it but it's there and it's not going away. Ever.
Right, because head coaches could never develop or evolve, or most likely in this case, start cheating.
Cool. You can hold on to that all you want. I don't take my football as seriously. It's a game, played by men. But, I did get to see my team win 4 amazing championships. Family, friends, everyone having the best time. I can't tell you how much fun it is to celebrate with them as our dynasty grows. Some friends and family have passed since the amazing start in '01, but the memories of the joy the Patriots brought us throughout their run have become cherished moments. I hope that the Jets win at least once in your lifetime and you'll realize that your obsession and judgment is meaningless. I'm loving the asterisks baby! DW****
Not really. For example in 2011 the Patriots defense was ranked 31st in the league. In 2015 - 24th, 2012 25th, 2008 - 23rd, 2009 - 22nd. The Patriots have really made their hay on offense the past decade or so.
A few years ago maybe that would be true but theyve built up the talent on that defense. Jamie Collins is an outstanding LB. Much better player than whatever shitbag Idzik drafted they year ahead of him. Also Malcolm Butler, I'll give him some props he's a hell of a DB. They have a much different defense than they did a few years ago
It would be pretty nice if Blake Bortles and the 0-2 Jaguars could play up to their potential at home in Jacksonville vs. the 2-0 Baltimore Ravens, although the 1:00 that I'll have on the big screen alongside my older brother (catch every game together) is none other than... The Denver Broncos. @ The Cincinnati Bengals. I'd trade a 3-0 start from Denver in order to see Cincinnati fall to 1-2 overall including two AFC Conferenc loses (especially after already beating our Jets). Due to Cincinnati beating us and owning the H2H tiebreaker (as a fan) I'll treat them as if they're an AFC East divisional team from here on out. For a defense that makes a living off a relentless pass rush it'll be intriguing how Denver's defense looks without having DeMarcus Ware opposite of Von Miller @ OLB (who's expected to miss 4-5 weeks). Imo a future Hall of Fame in Ware being out after having 17.5 sacks to go along with 3 forced fumbles during his 1st two seasons with Denver has been an underrated topic of discussion (also had two sacks this year) while being replaced by an untested rookie. In closing this game may not be easy for Trevor Siemian either. He's not only making his 1st career road start but this'll be Cincinnati's 2016 home opener, meaning that Paul Brown Stadium will be chaotic. Denver over Cincinnati (1-1). Jacksonville over Baltimore (2-0). Arizona over Buffalo (0-2). Cleveland over Miami (0-2). Indianapolis over San Diego (1-1). N.Y Jets over Kansas City (1-1). Philadelphia over Pittsburgh (2-0). Imo would be the best possible week 3 of Football results (minus the N.E over Houston game).
Jeremy Hill & the Bengals looking good. 7-0 Cincinnati. Obviously I want Denver due to Cincinnati holding the H2H tiebreaker over us but it's a win/win situation. If the 2-0 Broncos lose they'll then drop to 2-1 with a conference loss.
Also what's up with Arizona? In my opinion they're probably the most disappointing team in the NFL up to this point. They'll probably figure it out by the time they play us, with our luck.
