It's still a small sample size having only played two games but Fitzpatrick looks very good and with these offensive weapons such as Marshall, Decker, Enunwa, Forte and even Jalin; Fitzpatrick could truthfully end up having a pro bowl type of season.

Before posters begin to tell me to pump my breaks in regards to Fitzpatrick, right after we re-signed Fitzpatrick i couldn't stress the importance of Fitzpatrick improving his overall efficiency in terms of completion percentage, average yards per pass attempt and lowering his interception %.

By improving those three categories I felt Fitzpatrick could become a very good QB while also leading us into a top 5 offense. By improving his efficiency his QB Rating would then sky rocket.

Last year he had a completion percentage of 59.6%, an average yards per pass attempt of 6.9, an INT ratio of 1 INT per every 37.4 pass attempts with a QB Rating of 88.0.

This year he has a completion percentage of 62.3%, an average yards per pass attempt of 8.2, an INT ratio of 1 INT per every 69.0 pass attempts with a QB Rating of 96.5.

It's night & day thus far.

I also couldn't stress the importance of Fitzpatrick having improved offensive continuity, team chemistry, player cohesion & familiarity within this offense during year #2 as a Jet when compared to his 1st season here last year.

Fitzpatrick is prime for a Broadway Vinny type of 1998 season here in 2016 and if this happens we're a lock to feature a top 5 NFL offensive attack.

I may be the biggest Fitz fan on this forum, but seriously, pump your breaks in regards to Fitzpatrick. :)

After two weeks he's ranked (amongst AFC Quarterbacks):

    1st in first downs.
    3rd in passing yards.
    3rd in completions.
    3rd in sacks.
    4th in QB Rating.
4th in average yards per pass attempt.
    5th in TD's.

He's jumped out of the gates fast with impressive efficiency. He continues this trend and he'll become a Pro Bowler (You heard it here first).

By your logic, Garoppolo would have thrown 8 TDs today had he not gotten hurt.

He had a great game Thursday night. Very solid. I hope he got that confidence he had last season. After week 1, (and preseason of course) his throws didn't look great. He was spot on Thursday. Hope to see more. BEAT KC

Okay, two things are obvious. First, RF is off to a good start, and second, the defense is not. The best thing the Jets can do for Fitz is to tighten up their defensive backfield and take some of the pressure to perform off him. No QB can keep coming on the field every possession with the game in the balance and come through every time.

And while I liked how he played on Thursday night, the Bolls' idiot Defensive Coordinator never adjusted to what the Jets were doing, and rarely got any real pressure on him. And make no mistake, we'll play against smarter DC's and HC's this year than those two dipschitz..

Buffalo adjusted a little. Early in the game they played classic Rex Ryan football moving their safeties in and leaving their corners on an island with our receivers. Once our receivers started giving their corners wedgies and stealing their lunch money the Bills tried to adjust, blitzed less, pulled their safeties back and double teamed Marshall in particular.

Problem is Marshall is an animal that can't be stopped with a double team and you can't double team everyone, especially when you got guys like Quincy Enunwa and Jalin Marshall making plays. The Bills did some adjusting but they were simply overwhelmed by the Jets receivers. But I'll agree its probably not always going to be that easy sledding. Buffalo has 6 safeties on their active roster and not one of them is any good at coverage.

I sure hope Fitz is just as outstanding against that ferocious Patriots D this Sunday afternoon.

There's nothing mean about sincerely hoping Ryan Fitzpatrick has an outstanding performance against the Patriots. It's gonna take a performance like the one against the Bills to beat the Patriots this Sunday. I'm actually rooting for a Jets WIN.

No worries, it was just a joke, as the OP was "pre-debacle." You know, when we all still had some realistic hope.:)
