Goodwin, a former Olympic athlete, has legitimate world class speed (he ran a 4.27 40 at the combine along with a 42" vertical an 11' broad) and is most likely the fastest player in the NFL if not the fastest period. While he hasn't had that much of an opportunity to shine within the Bills' crappy passing game outside of Watkins, I wouldn't characterize him as a scrub. Considering the difference in outright foot speed between the two along with the perfectly thrown pass, I'm surprised Revis was as close as he was after Goodwin got by him...

Dude. Those are some devastating numbers. An athlete can't naturally post better stats than those.

And I can live with Goodwin's TD. But the Salas play was just brain dead stupid.

Time, son, Time. It humbles all of us. :) And you'd have signed, too, for every nickel he got. Grudges are so unbecoming.

He sure as hell did that constantly last night. Demonstrated very good velocity and accuracy. If Marshall doesn't drop that deep ball and the pass to Decker didn't get called back on the penalty, he'd have had well over 400 yards on the night.

Yes, against a room temperature pass rush, and downfield coverage that looked like it was chaperoned by the church parents in Footloose, LOL!

Miles was the closest player to Salas. I don't know which CB was originally responsible for covering him but with all the time Taylor bought scrambling clearly led to a chaotic breakdown.

I would sign for a quarter of that, and Jets would have same result with me on the field: 2 blown coverages. But they would save a lot of $$ and my wife would be much happier.

Not quite sure I understand the reference but the coverage was tight on all the passes thrown to Enunwa as well as many of those thrown to Marshall and Decker.

He came from the defenses' right side and caught the pass deep on their left side against 2-deep.If the safety stays home, Taylor probably tucks and runs OB for 10.

No worries, it was sarcasm. See the movie, Footloose. And I thought the coverage was B/B+ at best. They gave Fitz room and he took it over and over. They (read: Rex's simple brother) never adjusted. Again, just IMHO.

Now I just wish he would stop running all the time. A defender is due to give him a nasty cheap shot.

I was wrong about wanting to save cap space while giving Geno's athletic talents a chance. As time goes on I'm learning more & more about Fitzpatrick as I focus on his all around play. He's clearly the best fit for a team as ready as this one. Below I'll try and explain why.

One thing I'm recognizing with Fitzpatrick under center (in which I've yet to see in Geno as a Geno supporter) is that Fitzpatrick is very good at the L.O.S. This aspect of Fitz is so underrated. He's a real leader (for us). Takes control of the huddle with the likes of both younger players & veteran leaders all coming out of the break confident in the play call. They're all aware of the next snap. He's showing me stong vocal communication ability with both his offensive lineman and skilled position players. Very smart play recognition pre-snap as well. He spreads the ball around too. He's just sound.

He's risky at times but he really is a smart scrambler. He's able to get positive yardage running and sometimes longer runs due to his understanding of where defensive players are lined up pre-snap. Those scrambles are at time momentum drivers that rejuvenate this offense seeing Fitz work like a dog.

The more I thought about it during the offseason the more I began to feel as if Fitzpatrick was the right QB for this team. They really do all love this guy. These men clearly rally around Fitzpatrick. His character is why they trust him. It just appears as if Fitzpatrick himself installs confidence into everyone around him. It spoke volumes having great players in Forte, Marshall & Decker speaking out to the front office in support of their QB. That doesn't always happen around the league. Maccagnan & Bowles both heard their locker room voices and felt their presence. Loud and clear.

During the offseason lots of us were talking about last year being only Fitzpatrick's 1st season as a Jet behind this o-line and alongside players such as Powell, Marshall, Decker and Enunwa. You can take Enunwa for example, the overall offensive continuity, chemistry, cohesion & familiarity between Fitzpatrick and our playmakers look to be on another level when compared to year #1.

I predicted a top 5 offense over the offseason and as a longtime fan I've never once predicted an explosive top 5 type of offense. Defense, yea. But not since 1998 under Vinny, Martin, Keyshawn & Chrebet have I believed in a Jets offense as being deadly. But it's just written all over 2016's unit. Chan Gailey knows it too.

Not only is Fitzpatrick reunited with Powell, Marshall, Decker and Enunwa from last season but here in year #2 Matt Forte looks to be an absolute NFL offseason steal (thank the Football God's Tom Brady didn't get his hands on Forte). And not only the addition of a true 3 down back in Forte but the added depth with Jalin Marshall (could be a gamer) and he's yet to utilize both Anderson & Peake and out of literally nowhere Fitzpatrick has emerged with an unlimited amount of pass catching options.

Geno. Pretty. Hackenberg. They'll all have to wait for their time. This is Fitzpatrick's offense. And Chan Gailey has his quarterback for the time being. Geno can go elsewhere over the offseason. Petty & Hackenberg can continue their development from the outside looking in. Because if Fitzpatrick can potentially become our Broadway Vinny of 1998 then we're real AFC contenders for the foreseeable future.

There's nothing like being able to build your team around the QB position. Fitzpatrick may just continue giving Maccagnan that ability to do so. And that's an intriguing thought process to have when evaluating this roster; it's stacked.

agreed. Revis lost a foot race to an olympic class sprinter. i can live with that,

Stanford miles mental mistakes on the salas long TD and Marcus williams mental mistake on the AJ green TD, not so much

    thats fair.

its also fair to say fitz great final 5-6 games doesnt make the first 10 games go away

overall it was just below average for NFL standards and way above average by jets QB standards
