Perhaps you might try to be a little less negative? Crimoney, we got a win 5 days after missing one we should have won. Enjoy it.
If you win 2 against MIA and BUF and then split with NE you have 5 wins. I think they can put together 5 wins on top of that.
5 divisional wins. Don't get your hopes up. I don't think we've ever done that post realignment, hell in the history of the AFC east I don't think we have 5 wins.
We have the type of team that can compete and contend with any contender out there. By far the most talented Jets team any of us have witnessed dating back to 1998. With that said, if we lost last night & started off 0-1 within the division, 0-2 within the AFC & 0-2 overall? With a tough schedule still to come? Our season could've been over before it started. The history of teams starting off 0-2 isn't good (to say the least). Last night's win was as big of a week two win as they come. It won't be easy, it's always tough playing in Arrowhead Stadium but if the Jets escape with a win over K.C we'll be a force to be reckoned with @ 2-1 moving forward.
That's the thing, edge... We, the Jets fans, are so used to look over our shoulders -- on NE now, MIA before, BUF before that -- that we forgot that this really doesn't have to be that way. "How will NE do??" "If we get to 10 wins and not get into Wild card?" It's a mentality fostered by years of backseat and maybe it's time to start changing it. How about this: if we win at least 5 out of 6 division games chances are we will win the division no matter what NE does? Especially if we beat NE twice. THIS should be the focus.
That's right!! To paraphrase quote from Replacements: "Let's take that fear and put it on NE" Let the cheaters worry what happens if they go 10-6 and don't make the wild card.
The Jets need to focus on winning their games. Thats their job, if they don't win it doesn't matter. As for us, we're fans, we have the luxury of playing scenarios and worrying what other teams do. Personally, I think we can go 5-6 in the division and still not win the division. If you want to catch NE, 12 wins is a necessary minimum until NE proves otherwise. NE has earned that respect and last Sunday reinforced that when they beat what some people thought was a better team without Brady and without Gronk. In my opinion, tie breakers are critical for this team. They need to get their secondary in order and stop making bonehead mistakes consistently if they're going to step up and challenge NE. I think they're capable of it, but at this point I wouldn't bet on it. Sent from my KIW-L24 using Tapatalk
Did I ever say otherwise? I was pointing out the necessity of beating KC and PIT for the exact reason we're already 0-1.
it is absolutely an overreaction. That said, it was REALLY damaging dropping game early we should have won, given the next 4 opponents and 3 of those being on the road. being 2-0 now we could have gone 1-3 in that stretch and still survived. now if that happens we are looking at 2-4, and still have that december travel/rest nightmare looming late. at 3-3, you could have been in a solid position still. it isnt the end of the world, but we absolutely need to take 2 of the next 4 games, none of which we will be favored in. this 4 game stretch coming up is enormous
so you have us beating which 5 of these remaining games? @KC Sea @pit @arizona Ravens @Browns Rams Colts @49ers you could probably cirlce those last 5 names. if you do that, it assume you think we will win 9 of the final 10 games. seems optomistic to sweep the bills and dolphins and run off 9 straight.
We can beat KC, Seattle (they have a long travel and aren't at home) , Arizona, Ravens, browns, rams, colts, and 49ers. Sent from my BLU LIFE ONE X using Tapatalk
