The way this thread was headed it felt like people were happier when Greg Mcelroy was the starting QB out there
That in itself is great, but that he did it against Rex Ryan's much ballyhoo'd Secondary is remarkable in itself. Kudos Fitz.! Make sure you pass the knowledge on to Petty as the season wears on.
That was the sweetest thing for me. I hate the sight of Ryan's face or the sound of his voice. I truly detest the man, his attitude, personality and the way he goes about everything. If I never have to see/hear him or even hear his name mentioned again, it will be too soon. Fitz' play last night was a huge EFF YOU to Rex and the NY media, and I loved it. Thank you NY media for playing up Fitz's past futility vs Rex this week. Will you please find something negative about Fitz and the team we're playing every week? I think you provided him with a lot of motivation and incentive last night.
The NY Media hates guys like Bowles cause he's "beige" when it comes to quotes, drama, etc.. I'm surprised they didn't take up a collection to bribe Woody into keeping Rex a few more years since as we all know, Rex saves his best plays for the media.
If your fanbase and ownership thought 4-9 with a terrible roster was hope, then that's your own dumb fault. And judging by your response and Fitz's extension, it's your own dumb fault.
I thought Fitz was trash and had no deep ball? Gailey had a good game plan against the Bills. They were clearly conceding the deep ball and the Jets took advantage. Fitz needed a game like that, especially against Rex and his former team. The Jets are going to be fine this year, and again, all they have to do is come out of this tough stretch of the season 3-3 and they will contend. Die Rex die!
Im hoping and praying that the Jets sign Fitz long term. Please please please sign Fitz long term. Do you guys agree with me?
What? You can't say that Fitz is the right qb for the Jets and then say you don't want him here past 2016. That would make you a hypocrite. oh wait you're Jets fans......
This is stupid. For two reasons really: "Longterm deal" does not mean one year to almost anyone but you, shockingly. I'd be fine with him past this year, but not a longterm deal. I don't really know how else to explain that to you, it's just kinda common sense. And the second reason this is stupid: We have two young QBs, one of them had a very good preseason and looks like he could be in the running for the starter's job next year. Have you ever heard the term "holdover" or "patch" or "placeholder" in terms of QBs? That would be what Fitz is. Could be a year, could be two, could be three. Shit, could be 6 if he's playing well enough but as long as you aren't signing him to huge deals with a lot of years, like your moronic team did, who cares?
