Dude's been a straight up beast so far. I just hope we mix in Powell enough here and there and don't completely run this guy into the ground the way we did Ivory early last year.
Agree that a little more Powell would be nice to see and help preserve Forte for the long haul. I loved the Forte pickup since we got him, he's still in his late prime and has a lot left.
Some announcer mentioned it last week and I have to agree He is a sleek glider like Marcus Allen So fun to watch Forte!!!
He makes you forget about Chris Ivory for sure. The guy has been consistent so far and he can catch with the best of them.
MATT FORTE!!!!!! love this guy.. like said earlier today. Very Very Fun to watch. a Pro's pro! HEY NCJET......still think he's too old? Guy runs efficiently, very good pass catcher and reliable pass blocker when needed. IN Mac I Trust! Keep adding talent daddy MAC.
best move this offseason. forte is doing great out there and is a big reason this offense can move the way it does. the guy just glides forward and finds yards on every play. i loved ivory when he was here but he is not the same caliber back and thats clear after just 2 games.
Forte has been huge. Awesome aquisition. He moves so effortlessly, a real pro, so psyched he's a Jet!
Hopefully he stays healthy and effective. Hey if anyone can do it past 30 it's him. He doesn't rely too much on speed and he knows how to avoid the big hits. Kind of like Curtis Martin in that regard.
He runs the rock with finesse and has a swag to him... Love what he brings to the team, great signing.
I love the Bears for hand feeding us both Brandon Marshall & Matt Forte. Throughout the offseason Matt Forte was the player I was most excited about heading into 2016. After losing Ivory I couldn't stop mentioning how Forte's a tremendous upgrade for our backfield. Unlike Ivory, Forte is a pure 3 down back who can not only catch out of the backfield (like a receiver) but also great in pass protection for an HB. Ivory struggled with both. And unlike Ivory, Forte is a real offensive threat as an X-Factor ala ranking top 3 over the past 3 years in all purpose yards from scrimmage. Thus far as a Jet he's put up 52 rushes for 196 rushing yards (3.7 ypc), 3 rushing TD's to go along with 7 receptions for 68 yards. He's averaging 132 yards from scrimmage per game. He's been sound in pass protection as well. Ivory had 18 TD's during 3 seasons as a Jet. Forte on the other hand has a nose for the end-zone and already has 3 TD's after only two games. Free Agent steal of the offseason.
Yea I knew when we got rid of Ivory for Forte it was one of the best moves for us. Not only can he still run, but the simple fact that he brings another pass catching weapon out the backfield amazing. And when he gets hit big he holds onto the ball.
53 carries through 2 games. Where the hell is Powell? I hope the Jets take a look at Williams post suspension. Forte will break down at this pace. Gotta feed the hot hand but still.
