For all of the criticism in which Fitzpatrick received after Cincinnati's game... he not only just rebounded on the road @ Buffalo, but responded in a big time way. 24/34 (70.5%). 374 passing yards. 21 rushing yards. 1 TD/0 INT's (only 1 sack). An outstanding QB Rating of 116.5. He was absolutely great at keeping his composure after Buffalo returned Jalin's fumble for a TD. His composure under pressure was key. Clutch on 3rd downs as well. He was also outstanding scanning the field while finding multiple receiver options (Enunwa was 8 yards away from 3 receivers of over 100+ yards) and more importantly; he didn't turn the ball over. 37 offensive points? Keeping composure on the road? Ryan Fitzpatrick won us this game tonight.
Not to mention all the criticism he got (and rightly so) for his games against Rex and the Bills last year. Glad he slayed that dragon at least.
It was like a middle finger to everyone who doubted his arm. Not that such doubts are entirely wrong, but they can be a tad overblown. Especially after a bad loss when this place goes into meltdown. Great win, great performance, and great to beat the Bills and silence all the Bills/Rex Ryan narratives.
Fitz did have a good game, but lack of a pass rush factored in to a lot of that. You guys earned the win, hopefully Roman earned a pinkslip
Not to disparage Fitz, he had a fantastic night... but the Jets opened weak, and with the exception of Enunwa, the offense didn't really turn on until Marshall's injury, and subsequently his return. I think when Marshall got back in the game, had that catch and got in the face of the guy who hit him, that really ignited the juice in the offense. Suddenly they were taking shots downfield and they stopped calling the cutesy bullshit plays they were doing early, and the whole offense benefited. Great job by Fitz and the receivers tonight.
How about that 53 yard pass to Decker that got called back what a perfect throw.Def his best game yet I think anyway. And Enunwa has arrived and is a major player and the reason we dont need a TE.
Hopefully the retarded, oft repeated "Fitz can't throw downfield" shit goes away for at least a week.
So much for not being able to push the ball down the field. Q was an X factor. Deck started getting loose when Marshall was turning up. Jalin made some nice grabs too. 2 receivers over 100, 1 over 90, 100 yard rusher. That's tough to keep up with. To be honest, they weren't about to stop our offense all night. We let them make it close with 2 deep balls and a fumble, though. Glad we held it together in the end.
