I've been listening to WFAN for the past few days and they have all said that Rutgers has no shot for a national championship and an outside shot for a BSC bowl. Although I don't believe they will make the national championship, with all the losses today they could go to a major bowl game. Before the polls come out where do you think Rutgers will stand. I'm going to say 8. Auburn, Louisville and Cal will all drop with losses and Florida should drop slightly for their slim win today.
I have a wild and crazy scenario in which Rutgers would play for the national title. Get out your markers and poster boards Ohio State beats Michigan Cal beats USC USC beats Notre Dame LSU beats Arkansas Arkansas beats Florida (in SEC title game) Rutgers beats Cinci Rutgers beats Syracuse Rutgers beats WVU If that were to happen we would have an undefeated Ohio State and Rutgers team. A 1 loss Michigan team and Louisville team. A 2 loss Florida, Arkansas, LSU, USC, Notre Dame, Auburn, Texas, WVU and Cal team. Could you imagine the chaos. If they passed on Rutgers the east coast media would go nuts. The crazy thing is this isn't entirely out of the possibility. To answer your original question I'm gonna say they are ranked 10th behind Louisville and West Virginia whom they both lead in the standings. BTW I'm gonna go out on a limb and say they end up in the Gator Bowl against Maryland.
W/ all that happeend yesterday they definitely have a shot now if they win out. I think WVU has a shot again now too but it will likely be ND or USC.
This is how I think it will go: 1. Ohio State 11-0 2. Michigan 11-0 3. Florida 9-1 4. USC 8-1 1,173 5. Notre Dame 9-1 6. Arkansas 9-1 7. Rutgers 9-0 8. Texas 9-2 9. Louisville 8-1 10. West Virginia 8-1
