Bowles is a pretty good coach from what I've seen.....I don't think the team has really struggled much with effort under his watch and you don't see players (on defense) running around like chickens with their heads cut off like you did with Rex at times. Everything seems to be in control and of course they make mistakes but overall the team looks like it has solid coaching The bottom line is it's hard to win in this league with a backup QB with the worst arm in the game running the show but we went 10-6 last season with Fitz (albeit with a garbage schedule but still)
The problem with this thread is that no one has mentioned the NFL Passion Cap which has regulated how much passion a coach can display, on or off the field. Like the Salary Cap, the effect is cumulative and in the six years before the Arrival of Bowles the Jets were way over the cap and are paying the price now. With only so much passion to go around the coach had better be using it during the week to get his team ready for the games. All indications are he used most of his allotment on the defensive front last week but only gave them enough juice to get through the first half. He needs to find a better way to get the rest of the team producing their own passion which is unregulated by the NFL.

Well, now we all cant slam Bowles on making Revis not play to his strengths. Revis has full authority to play how he wants but Revis himself is just too old to play his old style which made him great for so many years.
Does it concern anyone that after leaving Arizona, the Cardinals got better? I mean, if Bowels is such a great coach, him leaving they should stay equal or decrease. Not get better. With Bowels: 9th in the league, 369 ypg given up Without Bowels: 5th in the league, 321 ypg given up Just a thought. i'm sure the sarcastic know it allers will tell me how this doesnt matter
The Steelers offense is better now than when Bruce Arians ran it. The Patriots is better after Bill O'Brien left. The Jets defense is better after Rex left.

Bruce hasn't been in Pittsburgh since 2011. 2011 (With Arians): #11 in offense 2012 (Without Arians): #21 in offense So yes, Pitt got a lot worse without Arians. ------ And Bill O'Brien? Patriots were the #2 offense in the NFL with Bill O'Brien. Pats were #6 last year. So yeah, Pats got worse. ---- And Rex Ryan? Don't we all agree Rex is a bad coach? So yeah, that makes sense...
Pittsburgh offense is light years better NOW, then it was with Bruce Arians. Todd Haley prolonged Big Ben's career and made him a better QB. This thread sicks major dick.
I mean the defense looked good outside of Revis IMO. You can't expect perfection every play... some plays the other team is going to win. Front seven looked really good, darron lee is sideline to sideline.. Leonard Williams might be our best lineman now that he's back in his natural spot (interior) .. Mauldin got to Andy a few times..we wanted to see that. Fitz and Nick Folk bothered me more than anything.
If I remember correctly his Cardinals defense was dealing with a lot of injuries. And looking at ypg is cherry picking stats and extremely deceptive and misleading. A remedial understanding in statistics or of the NFL will tell you that. Bowles didn't win Assistant coach of the year because he's not good. Nor did he go 10-6 in his first year as a head coach because he's not good. So no, it doesn't concern me at all.
