We should be 1-0. Our Defensive front made Cinncinati a one dimensional team for most of the game, without Richardson I might add. They played offense just like New England did against us last season. Screens, draws, quick routes, and such are all they could play against us. I must add, our Achilles heal, our CB's must play much better. Especially Revis, who got exposed. Green is a top 5 receiver, and his type will be trouble to us all year. My hat is off for Cinncinati's offensive coordinator who adjusted the game plan and kept us from blowing them out. They would have not reached 15 points playing conventional football against us. Eifert no doubt would have helped them. Our Kicking game cost us this game. I hope this was a very rare occurrence. Our offensive coordinator needs to be more aggressive with the run. In the red zone, on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd down during the first half we passed, fwhen we could have ran. Instead we passed for incompletions, had a kick blocked and made a field goal. If we turn those into TD's, we win easily. It's like Coach had no faith in the run game. I know our line isn't a top 10-15 line, but it played over its head for the most part. I was shocked that they played so good. I hope it's the beginning of something good for the year. Brandon Marshall had a bad game. I hope it's his last of the year. Gilcrist played crappy too, and David Harris is getting worse in coverage. Maybe Jenkins will get healthy soon, and things will change somehow with the right adjustments. Fitz was ok, but didn't make enough throws to help us win. Fitz lacks deep throw ability, as of our pass attempts seemed to be short and intermediate, which had their defense playing up nearly all game. Forte played about as good of a game as we will see. Don't expect much beyond what he did, and maybe Powell will get more touches to complement. Our next game will be very tough considering short week and how they match up against us. If we iron out all the kinks on Defense, we will be very hard to score on. We can't let Marshall be a decoy so much. Last season's offensive surge was largely due to him. We may win 8-11 games if some things change, and we get some breaks and stay injury free. We have to beat the Bills on Thursday. If we start out 0-2, it's going to be tough. Our secondary is the weakest link on this gteam, not our O-line like I have said before. At least last night they played that way. Still lots of time,
People say David Harris is bad in coverage you cant cover quick screens you can only stop them by making tackles for a loss and not letting them have 15 yards after the catch.MOST LINEBACKERS SUCK IN COVERAGE THATS WHY THERE LINEBACKERS.Show me a linebacker thats has corner or saftey coverage skills...

We ARE better and that's why the loss was a disgrace that is NORMAL and EXPECTED for this fucked up and cursed franchise. I agree with your post but the problem is last season Bowles did exactly what you describe in the first buffalo game -it didn't work and people/media killed him for it. He tried the field goal game sunday because going for it all didn't work in similar situations last year but he shoulda stuck with his original philosophy. I think it also helps having Ben Roethlisberger when you want to play aggressive too
I did not agree with the call at the time but he was betting on his defense. Not a horrible call would have been a hero if the defense held or the ex-jet missed the kick. Patriots, cardinals mess up the snap miss a 47 yard FG . Jets, ex-jet second rd kicker nails 47 yard FG for the win. (Maybe Joe Willie did sell the franchises soul)
The scoreboard never lies - and no matter what we think or would like to think its in the record books that they were better than us - need to get rid of the rust and learn from this ASAP so we get a rematch and then look to see who will be considered best

thank you for pointing this out, ive been saying they're cursed for years, all the disappointment and losses and not making another superbowl is all joe Namath's fault, he couldn't just go out and play , he had to say the word guarantee, now we have to suffer the consequences til he croaks , he even said that in the superbowl he went up to the line and saw the way they were lined up and he took the play the other way, but no, he had to fucking asshole guarantee it, he couldn't just shut the fuck up and just play , now we're fucking jinxed and cursed cuz of that fuck, we would have won that superbowl anyway, we would have 4 superbowls by now
No quarterback and no cornerbacks, the same problem Ryan had his last two years and the results will be the same. Last year was a powderpuff schedule and this year realty sets in.
I am fairly confident the Bengals will have a MUCH better record than us this season and they just beat us in our own building. So, no we are not better than the Bengals
