It won't happen, the jets CS has a scheme that was brought over by TB and that's what they will use, even if they don't have to. The jets could have the old 70 steelers front 4 and would still blitz their safeties because it's what they run.
I wasn't too familiar with McClendon when he was with Pitt but I def am now. Guys a beast, he was in the bengals backfield almost the whole game. Him along with Mo, Shells and the big cat are gonna cause chaos for opposing teams this season.
Geez could u imagine if we had a classic edge rusher to add to this mix? Look for taylor to roll out frequently to avoid the interior push. Even though its his second game, look for d. Lee to be the spy.
A man amongst boys yesterday and it was awesome seeing him line up at nose tackle a lot. We haven't had a front four like this in a long long time.
making a comment like this tells me you haven't been paying much attention to what Bowles has been utilizing with the defensive shemes. Moderators, there should be a 'dislike' button for these kinds of posts
I haven't seen a d-lineman dominate like that since "2 game a yr" Kris Jenkins. He's stronger then Mo, and on a lot of those plays, he was getting to the QB before Mo did. After this off-season we should shop Sheldon. Either for a golden ticket in the draft, or an edge rusher / shutdown cb.
not sure if it's been mentioned, but the Jets are playing with 4 down lineman, and 1 OLB on the line as the base D. they showed it in preseason against the Giants, and were playing it again vs Cincy. Mo and Sheldon at the End spots, McClendon at NT, Williams at DT, and Jenkins will play the OLB once healthy. Lawrence Thomas filled in for Sheldon this week, and did a pretty good job himself as an UDFA rookie. So it does appear that Bowles is trying to get them all on the field as much as possible. good move imo.. can't double them all.
Great let's take a strength and weaken it. Trade him my ass he's gonna be a beast playing for that second contract
So off a nice one-game sample (playing against his former team's biggest divisional rival), let's put him in Canton while wondering what to do with a 25-year old DROY? Got it.. Going into 2016: - McLendon (90 games played) - Richardson (just 43 games played) Age: 30 / 25 Games: 90 / 43 Tackles: 58 / 104 Assists: 32 / 76 Sacks: 5.0 / 16.5 do the math
Too many Madden/ video game players on this board. IF you look at the list of past DROY, quite a few Hall o famers there.
