first half thoughts... 1) 3 timeouts in the bank for bowles. would have been nice to have 1 last drive in the first half. should have used them. 2) skrine needs to earn his money. playing "okay-ish" defense in the slot wont get it done. he needs to either beast inside or hold his own on the outside. 6-7M per year shouldnt mean being ok in the slot vs a team missing its slot threat 3) dline beasting. we knew they were good but what 5 sacks already? vs. a top line? 4) left too many point on the board. forget the block field goal we had 6 chances at a TD with the penalty and couldnt put it in. 5) offensive line has looked better then could be expected need to get points on the opening drive in 2nd half
This combined with letting them go down the field at the end of the half for points has me fighting that SOJ feeling. I need another shot.
Im not going to act like we should be blowing out the Bengals, they are a proven playoff team. The special teams has left 4 points on the table, the jets defens and offense are doing their jobs, it's up to the special teams to do theirs. It's a 3 phase effort to get to the next level on a consistent basis, hopefully TB gets Folk to put his big boy pants on and earn his keep.
