    Things worth noting:

Ijalana starts at RT over Qvale
Forte's healthy enough to start over Powell at RB
Jalin is the #4 receiver over Anderson and Peake and is also the KR and PR
Third round pick Jenkins starts, first rounder Lee doesn't (though this is only in base)
    Antonio Allen isn't included yet

Seeing Kellen Davis name on the depth chart makes me sick. How Jace Amaro couldnt beat this guy out is amazing and shows how bad Amaro really is.

Amaro wouldn't have started no matter what. Davis was always going to start and always will because of his run blocking ability.

If there's one major criticism for Macc....it's his botching of the TE position

I don't buy the "we don't use a tight end" excuse....When we throw out Kellen Davis and the Pats throw out Gronk it's a ridiculous advantage. You can use almost every other team out there for the comparison. I would have personally kept Amaro....but we still needed to add someone else regardless and still haven't

    WTF

I'm curious to see if Juston Burris has the ability to get some run on the outside so that we can move Skrine back to the inside as the season progresses. It's somewhat of a compliment in that he reminds me of Brandon Browner. Big, physical corner, only early on he seems to be solid at getting his head around. Penalties is always a worry with those big physical corners, so we'll see how he fares when he starts to see some game-action.

Darron Lee seemed way too impressive to not be a factor, so I fully expect him to play a lot of snaps this year. I'd assume that his snapcount is going to vary week to week. He may not see a lot of playing time against teams that don't spread out their receivers in huge sets, but I'd imagine he's going to be a big factor against teams like the Cardinals, Seahawks, etc., that often employ three wide receiver sets.

That defense is as exciting as the offensive line is scary for the wrong reasons. The entire season basically hinges on the health of that unit. If we lose one guy, we're essentially fucked. Ijalana would probably switch over to the left side if Clady goes down, but either way we'd be in bad shape. Luckily Gailey employs a quick-strike offense that negates shitty protection.

They're playing a 4-3 most of the time is my guess, with Jenkins or Catapano as the strong side/edge guy, with Harris, Henderson/Lee.
But without Sheldon in the first game I'm curious how TB is gonna approach it.

Let's be fair. In his first year Mac had a bunch of holes to fill, and no way was the TE high enough in the priority list. This year they banked on Amaro coming back from his injury but that failed miserably. I think it took them a bit by surprise. In fact I am the first to admit defeat on Jace.....I really though he could be one hell of a weapon.
OL and TE are the weak links right now. Mac next big challenge, and those big boys don't find their way in free agency.

There was a rumor going around that the RT position was going to be addressed by playing both guys on a rotation.

WTF? This is the first move by Bowles that really makes me go "WTF?" Shell wasn't even supposed to play this year. He's a project. Why wouldn't Ijalana move over to LT and Qvale go in at RT?

How exactly did he "botch" the TE position? When he took over the Jets had a lot of holes and little depth. We ALL knew (or should have) that Mac wasn't going to be able to fix every position in his first two off seasons, that it was going to take 3 or more. We knew he only had so many draft picks and only so much cap space. They were probably counting on Amaro developing and either Sudfeld or Saxon stepping up. He brought in Bostic who should provide solid play, or at least better than we got last year.

Gailey will use the TE if he has a good one, but the position was the absolute lowest priority. Mac upgraded the WR depth and the RB corps, so there should be plenty of targets for Fitz. The draft this year was not a good one at all for TEs. Would you have had him reach for a TE in the draft? Would you have had him trade away a draft pick or picks or a player(s) to get a good TE? Would you have had him use FA $ and cap space to sign one of the FA TEs instead of one or more of Fitz, Henderson, Carter, or whatever other FAs he signed?

In another post below, I've added the FA TEs this year (found at Yahoo Sports)
    http://sports.yahoo.com/news/2016-free-agent-master-list-191200371--nfl.html

Who would you have signed from this list, and who wouldn't you have signed that the Jets did sign?

Why would you have kept a player how has issues staying healthy, drops too many passes, and has a poor work ethic. It was reported that he looked disinterested at times in practice in TC. His improvement was negligible. He was totally unconcerned about making the roster. He showed no burning desire to be the best or even as good as he could be. He showed nothing in preseason, and you didn't see him play in practice. I just don't see how you can make a blanket statement like that when you are missing a lot of facts and data.

The biggest thing that Mac 'botched' is the lack of veteran depth along the offensive line, coupled with a left tackle that has played 18 games in three seasons. We're one twisted knee away from watching two Wayne Hunter's on either side of the interior line. Barely even a sniff of regular season game experience among all of the backups. It's what is going to make or break a team that has a good to great defense, top of the line wide receivers and extremely versatile runningbacks.

Comparing all of the Jets playoff teams over the past 15 years I'd say this unit is the shakiest we've had on teams that could potentially compete. On the 09 & 10 teams the lack of a consistent pass rusher was a worried but it could be masked. The lack of big time receivers on the 04 team was hidden by the elite running game. The lack of a consistent running game in 06 was hidden by a weak schedule and speedy receivers that stretched the field vertically and horizontally, along with great 3rd down guys.

It's nearly impossible to hide third string tackles as seen by the brilliancy of Wayne Hunter.
