Mets 1 game out of wild card, 1 1/2 games clear of Pittsburgh. It's pretty amazing, all things considered.
They are only 1 game out but it really doesn't feel like it. I just feel like I'm getting strung along here only to get punched in the nuts come the final weekend.
Well, they're still stringing us along. Don't gain on the Cardinals, but add another game to the leads over the Pirates and Marlins.
And San Francisco. Only 1.5 behind them and 1 behind the Cards. We also have the easiest schedule out of all the remaining teams with 3 of the games left against a team over .500. I think I heard the Giants also have a home and home vs the Dodgers coming up so that's 6 tough games, especially if they catch Kershaw since he returns friday.
Yeah, I just heard today that they only play one more series against a team with a winning record. It really is set up for them, despite all of the garbage that has been going on all year. Still can't see any way they would beat the Cubs this year, but once you're in the playoffs you never know. And you're right about the Giants - they're right there too. Whichever two teams of those three that win 60% of their games in September are probably the ones that will make it.
Well, the good news is that the Mets came back to win on a Cespedes two-run HR. The bad news is that they were one strike from being tied with St. Louis for the second wild card when the Cards went home run - double - home run - home run to take a three run lead in the 9th, eventually sending Pittsburgh to their eighth straight loss.
Just woke up to that news. 1 out away from being tied and the cards hit 3 HRs in 4 batters. Unbelievable man.
Ho hum, another game, another three home runs (Reyes, Granderson, Flores). 1/2 game out pending results of tonight's Cardinals and Giants games.
Didn't the Reds have one of the best records since the ASB? Pretty good series. Let's hope we get some help tonight and keep the train rollin'!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, that's disappointing, but happily has absolutely nothing to do with anything right now. I suspect he will tire of the anonymity and lack of amenities of instructional/minor league baseball pretty quickly, just as Michael Jordan did.
Don't be so sure, the dogmatic Christians will say that he is following the lords footsteps as Jesus had no material possessions. The Mets never stop disappointing me..
Wow first thing is ...can't belive my thread is still going... been away due to a fight i won hands down.. and who would have thought a world series. Hope all are well and despite numerous injuries we are still in there fighting! ! Re tebow ..makes sense minor league deal plus gets us close with Cespedes agent!! Anyway let's go mets and watch it for Nido and Crismatt they will be stars
to coin a well worn phrase: "Can't ever have enough Tebow..." I see The Wilpons have a lil PT Barnum in them too...
Don't look now, but the Mets now hold the second wild card spot by 1/2 game, and are 1/2 game behind the Giants for the first wild card spot.
