In a recently posted interview with "Crackback" (with whom I find myself agreeing and disagreeing on a 50/50 basis) he aptly pointed out that Enunwa's role is: blocking, blocking and more blocking with his best use as a WR being in exploiting mismatches if and when they occur. He described him as a "Gotcha" receiver when situations arise that allow us to hit him in space against a linebacker or similar mismatch error made by an opposing defense, ergo, "Gotcha." More of an H-Back with less than reliable hands and below average speed, he's not a WR that can effectively or consistently be used on the outside as he is just "too slow and clunky" to use Crackback's words.

Having said that, I don't think there is a stronger, better blocking WR to be found anywhere in the NFL whose power and blocking ability exceeds that of countless TEs who are substantially taller and heavier.

I've followed Robbie closely the last 4 or 5 years. I have to say I'm a little surprised at the success he's had at this point but I hope it continues. He's turned his attitude around a lot and works hard now. Good luck to the guy

Enunwa's skillset matches up pretty well as an H-back with us.
    much better than Amaro.
I'd rather just make that his position, cut Amaro, and retain another young WR for specials and future development.

My only worry is that he's been succeeding with a guy who can a.) throw the deep ball and b.) throw it accurately. Fitz can't do either of those things. Will he be able to make as much of an impact when he's not running up the sidelines?

For the record, I think so, I'm playing devils advocate.

He still has to survive Richardon, Smith and Giacomini coming back.

Don there's like 10 guys they are more likely to cut than Robby Anderson when those players come back

If they will still want to carry that many receivers. Still he has 6 weeks to get into games and make plays as he doesn't play special teams I don't believe. If he doesn't I think he will be a primary candidate for release.

Amongst all NFL players, throughout the preseason, Robby Anderson just ranked...

1st in receiving yards (264 yards).
    1st in TD receptions (3 TD's).
1st in first down receptions (10).
2nd in average yards per reception (20.3 per).
    5th in receptions (13 catches).

Robby Anderson isn't going anywhere, anytime soon.

Charone Peake (who I really like) would be considered as being on the chopping block before that of Robby Anderson in regards to Devin Smith's return.

As far as Sheldon Richardson's return come week two you won't see any of our WR's replaced for that of Richardson. Now an undrafted rookie (DE) in Lawrence Thomas would make sense; Robby Anderson after his preseason emergence, wouldn't.

I used to post on that sight and rarely agreed with Crackback. He's a blowhard that's full of himself Enunwa's hands are NOT less than reliable. He is much more than Crackback claims he is. He isn't slow, nor clunky.

You think wrong. There's no way on God's green earth that the Jets are going to release Robby Anderson. He's been a better WR than Peake and Jalin Marshall and more consistent. Peake doesn't play STs, either.

so is he signed or what? I've been looking to add him in my fantasy league but he isn't there.

  16. We gotta see how these guys perform when the real lights come on & what type of roles they evolve into. As of right now...if one has to go b/c Smith is returning..It's likely Jalin Marshall. He has the worst hands of the 3, Peake has much more upside & Gailey puts a premium on Height which Marshall lacks.

That said..I think in time..Jalin's role could become alot more cemented. He reminds me alittle of Bobby Humphrey as a returner/ball carrier & he's well suited for Fitzpatrick's quick passing style of play. He'll give the Jets a nice compliment to the physical boundary guys they have right now.Try to play the Jets w/ big slow LBs/DBs & this guy will make you pay. Very good w/ the ball in his hands..it's just about getting the ball IN those hands..and if he'll hold up over the long haul w/ that frame.

Holy shit he runs a 4.34? Blazing speed, 6' 3", great hands and attacks the ball in the air. I'm excited, he just needs to put on weight so he can hold up.

I think he's gonna wind up starting on the outside. We most commonly come out with 3 WR, Enunwa at H (so essentially 4 wide) and a running back. Remember last year that other outside role was occupied by Chris Owusu in the opener, then Devin Smith for a while, then Thompkins? I think Robby fits the exact profile of what they're looking for in that slot. Size and can stretch the field.

If this kid were to get cut, you might as well discredit the preseason as a forum for evaluating talent. It's unrealistic to expect anyone to perform better than he did, as consistently, throughout.

    Edit: Grammar

Lets say this guy has a good few games to start the year, could we extend his contract? Not sure about the rules / regulations of that.

Shell will get cut when Breno comes back and Lawrence Thomas is keeping Sheldon's seat warm. If Anderson gets cut when Smith returns then it means he wasn't contributing on Sundays and wasn't showing anything in practice so no big loss. Most likey, Marshall will go to the PS when Smith returns. Again, all depends on what they show over those 6 weeks. A lot can change in a month and a half.

And that all assumes that Smith is even ready to play by week 7. He still needs to get back into playing shape.
