This is the final year of Dee's contract his 4 mil will count this year then next year he counts at zero ...
Ross can always be re-signed Breno will be out six weeks ... Shell will be the backup LT so essentially we've got Ijalana and Qvale at RT
my thoughts on cutting guys like Milliner, Amaro, etc is this: In this hard-cap era, teams REALLY need guys on their rookie deals playing lights out. Guys like Wilkerson for the last 5 yrs, Richardson, Leonard, etc. Teams can only afford top contracts to 3 or 4 players. Everyone else plays for pennies. So when guys like Geno, Dee, Amaro don't light it up out of the gate, are injured years at a time, and the end of their rookie deals are coming due, you really have to cut bait and go all in on the next batch of rookies. It's not really "Well, Dee could become a great DB someday". For now anyway, teams need rookies to be great for 4 years on their rookie deals.
Man I knew drafting Dee was a bad idea, should've taken Eifert, but fans wanna be like you don't draft a te in the first round Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk
Nope, not at all. Geno Smith either for the same reason. Teams really need guys like Odell Backham and Sammy Watkins playing almost for free for 4 or 5 years. So when Mac was faced with guys who've had 2-3-4 yrs to make something and they didn't, even if they have great promise, they're all getting cut for a new batch of rookies.
Amaro offers even less. Doesn't do anything well AND has a shut attitude. Complete trash. Davis is at least capable of playing inline and blocking so he literally had no competition for that role on the roster. That may change now tho that other roster cuts shake free
Shell might be listed on the depth chart as backup LT but imo if Clady were to go down it would be Ijalana goint to LT, Qvale to RT (assuming he doesn't start there to begin with) and Shell would still be on the bench. No way Shell gets on the NFL field anytime soon. Given that it's 4 and no cut has been announced I'm guessing Giacomini is going to PUP for the first 6 games.
hey look, i understand you know everything, but let's not act like tyler eifert is never hurt (he almost always is) i just hate these 'i know we should have taken (name)' posts. no one cares
Then don't quote / read my shit you gypsy. Carry on. He's one of the best TEs in the league. BTW are you really comparing the injury history of Dee v Eifert? Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk
No no you haen't is-read... must have been a proposal at owners meeting or something to have all 53 active on gameday... but it must not have gone through. Will edit my post. Tks
Did you assign rookie minimum to all the players moving up into the top 51/53? Or did you figure most moving up are going to be making $550K or more?
Milliner still making bone head fundamental mistakes. Never mind the injuries...... Burris was already better than him. Hopefully this all translates to a deeper roster than we've had since 2010 and some better ST's too.* *Except Kellen Fucking Davis At least he can block.....
I agree Shell won't see the field this year I was just responding to your post saying we've got 4 RT's we technically got 2 with Breno hurt ... that said I'm shocked Dozier made it ...
