Honestly, I think he got hosed. Looked like his knee was down when the ball came out but no one reviewed that.
At this point is Kellen "f-ing" Davis a better option than Amaro? I mean, in all seriousness, the Jets can almost literately pick up almost any pos that gets cut and can block. That guy, by default, will be better than any TE currently on the roster. Bonus points if said players hands are only made of a softer stone rather than the prototypical Jets TE, lime perhaps. I'm not even kidding..... *looks at floor*
Tight end Jace Amaro, who cooled off after an encouraging first couple weeks in training camp, isn’t concerned about his roster spot. “I’ve never been worried about making the team or not making the team,” Amaro said. “I feel like I played well enough in OTAs and throughout training camp…. I’ve never been concerned about making the roster.” Cut this turd.
He's a fuckin idiot but TE is also a position it takes guys a few years before they turn into anything and its basically still his second year. I just think it might be too early to give up on him
I had hopes for him. He played HS ball less than 5 miles from my house. I just don't think he gets it.
IMO his attitude is a big part of the problem, if not THE problem. He comes across as very lackadaisical, no sense of urgency or drive to be the best. He's content with playing "well enough" and not worried about not making the team. Is he stupid? This FO & CS owe him nothing. He was drafted by another regime. He had a mediocre rookie season. Last year he evidently got in the doghouse with the CS and then got injured and missed the entire season. He worked hard early in OTAs and TC and then has seemingly gone into coast mode thinking he has it made. He needs a wakeup call. I guess coaches getting in his face or slapping him upside the head aren't enough. Maybe if he gets cut from a team or two, he'll take his opportunity seriously. Whatever the case, if he stays, he better get his shit together and earn his money. Otherwise, he can go eff himself.
