Saw Browning throw at Hofstra and he reminded me of Bert Jones

That is awesomely bad, and a great representation of Jets futility. Right up there with Buttfumble and BehindthebackbuttfumbleII.

It should be right up there in infamy with the butt fumble but the butt fumble was on prime time thanksgiving night.

This one was in the last game of the season as the Jets were closing out a 4-12 year with a 20-0 loss to New Orleans...... For that matter I'm not sure ANYONE saw it live and if they did, they were certainly drunk

So we're only 8 days away from seeing Carolina @ Denver opening up the 2016 season.

Would be pretty nice to see the defending SB Championship start off 0-1 within the AFC.

    #8: Mark Brunell.

Tom Tupa #7 (Nice guy, true gentlemen, met him about 20 times at Hofstra, never missed a photo op or autograph chance for a kid)
Best punter we had since Curley johnson

Nothing against Tupa as a punter, but just seeing Tom Tupa replace Vinny at QB (opening day of 1999) still goes down as my most heartbreaking moment as a Jets fan.

If memory serves me correctly Tupa delivered a TD pass during his 1st pass attempt in replace of Broadway Vinny although the dream was short lived.

Losing against Denver during the AFC Championship Game the year prior (1998) was hurtful, very disheartening at that but losing Vinny, during I believe the 1st quarter of 1999's opening day was a feeling of all hope lost.

We went from potential AFC favorites to a disaster season. The worst 8-8 season I've ever witnessed due to going from AFC contenders to hopelessness within a blink of an eye.

I'll never forget that play. A botched snap. Testaverde goes to recover the ball; torn ACL. Out for the season.

Very good punter. But the above is what I think about when seeing or hearing Tupa's name.

That offense was stacked too with Vinny, #28 Martin, Richie Anderson, Keyshawn & Chrebet, Ward all behind a dominant offensive line being led by Kevin Mawae, Randy Thomas, Jason Fabini & Jumbo Elliott.

Speaking of O-Lineman I really hated the Redskins during the early/mid 2000's while losing offensive lineman such as Thomas and later on Fabini to them. Not to mention losing Coles to Washington before trading Moss to the Redskins so Penny could reunite with Coles once again. As an N.Y.J fan I really couldn't stand that team.

    Ahhh the memories.

Good post DWC, I feel the same way, but Vinny ruptured his achilles tendon....devastating, I don't think I will ever get over it.
Tupa was a great guy, I met him at his sons football game in Massepequa, talked to me for like 20 minutes, I had a little signal everytime I saw him, I would say Tom you're the best punter we've had since Curley Johnson and he always remembered me....

For those that don't know as each day passes you post a pic of a player that wore that jersey number. So today is 99 days to the season you would post a picture of a Jets player who wore number 99.

Norman "Boomer" Esiason: 1993-1995. He was given the number 7 at a press conference while long time number 7, Kenny O was still on the roster.... awkward!
