Harris has been good for us, but they overpaid on the contract he has now. I hope he makes it back for the start of the season.

No. Organizing your teammates on defense is much more than listening to and parroting your coach on a radio.

One can play through that though. I know NFL speed and injuries are much different than high school, but I played 2 seasons with a torn rotator cuff at linebacker. It's a pain tolerance thing and it limited mobility of a players arm extending over their head, but a brace should do him fine if that's all it is.

He's also one of, if not the best run stuffing and inside the box tackling middle linebacker in the league. He's not great outside the box, but we have a plethora of speed to combat that. Your hate for him is so unwarranted.

Between Bruce Carter, Erin Henderson and Darron Lee I think we'd be fine. Obviously its a huge morale hit, but I think a combination of Gilly and Pryor could take over the leadership of the D.

That was an assumption on my part. X-rays are done at the stadium these days and they would probably announce it after the game if anything came up. I assume that the team would have an x-ray done right away and that the team doctor can look at a simple x-ray and wouldn't need to wait until Monday.

The only reason you would wait until Monday is if you're waiting to fit someone in for an MRI.

Is the lack of any announcement a good thing? I don't know. I would have expected something by now.

Not necessarily. MRIs are really hard to schedule, even with someone with full resources and urgency, like a pro football team.

I had been looking for an announcement from the team regarding the X-rays and didn't see it anywhere. I'm concerned. If they're just being tight lipped that's fine by me.
Waiting to do the MRI also involves waiting for swelling to go down to get a better reading.

Hoping that they're just being cautious, and it's not about confirming something positive in the X-rays

He's not Luke Kuechly so I guess that's bad for some people.

Btw, Kuechly is one of the best players in the league. He's a great football player

    @AdamSchefter

Jets LB David Harris underwent MRI on shoulder today. While he won't play in preseason finale, Jets expect him ready for opener vs. Cincy.

Looks like Sheldon is the only starter that won't play in the opener. That's a good training camp/preseason in my book.

Great news. Stopping Cincy's run game is the only way we have a chance.

Great preseason. Anytime you can go an entire preseason without losing any starters you've had a successful one.

I was worried shitless about losing David Harris & thankful he'll be o.k. Same goes for Jordan Jenkins who's getting healthier as well.

But yea, Harris is an absolute tackling machine & has never been the problem in regards to lack of speed & athleticism at LB over the years. Pace & Davis? Yes. David Harris? Not a chance. He's exactly what you look for in a 3-4 IMLB who does all the dirty work as a grinder. As physically strong at the point of attack as one could be.

He's been a Jets warrior. After this season he'll rank #3 All-Time in Franchise history for total defensive tackles only behind Kyle Clifton & Mo Lewis.

Can't wait to see the Hitman finally being surrounded by speed & athleticism at LB with the likes of Maudlin, Lee & Jenkins; he's going to feast this year.

After losing Snacks in the middle, we really needed the Hitman's tackling at Lber. Plus Harris allows Lee to roam a bit more. This is good news...dodged a huge bullet.
